Inspiried by Celiannas Post, i just scaled up some Screenshots of one of my older Projects with the Helpf of waifu. Never heard of it before.

I'm pretty impressed and really like the Result and the new "Style". With Waifu, i have no concerns anymore regarding using my old Ressources :) .

Ye I know, wasn't overused. I did a minigame for a contest. A rhythm game. Was impossible to put image, an hud, over the video and play the game so I solved using 3000+ frames showed with a script rapidly. That's why I'm asking if there is some info on it. Some cool improvement maybe...

And after reading 47 pages of discussion...

I've found no info about a video player function like Ace. I think can control more a video with JS and maybe use it as background for cutscene and events. Will be nice have some I found about it. Also a "NDA. With love Archeia" is fine XD

For the people using Waifu to upscale image.. how do you upscale 32x32 to 48x48? I can see only a 1.6x and 2.0x on the website...

I think the standalone program has 1.5x, 1.6x and 2x. If someone used the site to upscale, it could be just to get a quick approximation on how the assets will look when upscaled.

Remember than you are using a full screenshot to upscale the image. (wich isn't usually what you are going to do)

You may want to try to upscale by 1.5 each resource alone.

There is a chance the quality won't be the same

I upscaled to 2x using the website, then reduced to 75% in Photoshop. I've tried it on the tiles themselves, and they still look passable. Not horrible or anything.

Not quite sure, there is no unified version it seems. I found a thread that has links to the windows port and some other add-ons but I haven't bothered to check them out and see if and how one can use them.

I'm really looking forward to MV.

Thou I dislike the Ace mapping, an additional layer could make it it far better... maybe I could get used to it.

As soon as there is a demo, I'll try it out! :popcorn:

I really am looking forward to the demo coming out, even when I do not know when that is.  I'd ask, but it's not like there's likely 1. an answer or 2.  even if there was an answer, the company isn't likely to release it yet.  Oh well.

I really hope there will be a demo soon or a demo at all. o_O

I hope that eventing can be more complex, like:

if enemy attacks Actor ID 1, Variable 1 get's increased.

if enemy attacks Actor ID 2, Variable 2 get's increased.

Or:

if Actor ID 1 attacks monster, Variable 3 get's increased.

if Actor ID 2 attacks monster, Variable 4 get's increased.

These simple and effective event's couldn't be done in VX Ace. Is a little problem in my game at the moment. :D

Same goes for stuff like:

if variable 5 = 0 - 9 draws picture 0 - 9 on x0, y0

if variable 5 = 10 - 90 draws picture 0 - 9 on x0, y32

But still processing the 0-9 picture drawing the same way. :D

Or at least I didn't figured it out without writing 9 million+ lines. :D (\s/)

I'm sitting here actually hand drawing pixel art at a high rez.

(yeah the shadow on it sucks.. i need to fix that)

It's a style i'm playing with i'm calling high rez 16 bit.. it consists of few colors and simple black outlines... which is intentional and a style choice.

Reason for showing this, is i feel that there is no shortcuts to be made..and you sort of have to just do the work.

I think it will look good in MV when it comes out.

My heart is still stuck back in the SNES era.. so i'm bad about using that era as a means for inspiration.

@Tai_MT: unless i see some significant changes A.K.A things ace cant do (besides ios compatibility), im waiting for a bargain sale on this one, that could be a way to afford it

Also, like i said before, i also want backwards compatability

It'll be hard to use pixel art since at the apparent required size, it still look HD. I'm stuck in the Nintendo era too and that is why I've looked into RM2K3 over RMVXA, but we can still capture the gameplay I guess.

I think it's possible. At least it's not 64x64 ;-;
64x64 would be so overkill, I make sprites of that size crying bloody tears of doom and I would take 1 year per character.

Biiger pixel art is hard, because you have to be great at shading, and small pixel art is hard too because you need to know how to make with fex pixels a lot of detail...

No luck running the full version on my desktop tho :(
