So I'm new to RPG maker and did a short game to get familiar with most the functions and how this program work, but now to the problem.

I'm trying to let some of my friends try this game out for feedback but I don't really know how to export it really. Best way would be doing it

through a browser but I have no idéa how to do that.

Otherwise make an .exe file for them do download and start the game but unlike XV ace I can't really find some option to do that.

Any helpful tips?

I've moved this thread to RPG Maker MV Deployment. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

In the program, click File in the upper corner, click Deployment. Choose either Windows or Mac OS X (whichever they use) and exclude unused files to keep the filesize smaller. Select a location, and it'll automatically create a playable version of your game.

That simple! Thank you very much!

careful with removing files, plugins need to go through some process to be added to the "do not remove list" and not all do that, so before sharing your deployed game make share it works

I managed to fix this for the (few...) plug-ins I use. It's quite simple (the procedure is described in the MV 'Help' files...), and doesn't involve much technical expertise. It's prudent, just the same, to make a back-up copy of your Plug-in before trying this, though.

The Plug-in needs to declare the Resources it requires, and does that through a line in the .js file itself, in the format below...

 *
 * @requiredAssets img/system/FootStep
 * @requiredAssets img/system/FootStepChicken
 * @requiredAssets img/system/WaterSplash

 *
 * @help

. It's the Purple lines that need adding, with the Path and File Name corresponding to the Resource required, of course, so your's will be different. I found that a convenient place to add these lines was just above the @help section (in Green...) that most Plug-ins will have.

I can't guarantee that this will do the job for every Plug-in out there, but could be worth trying, at least..?

Subject to completion, correction and/or contradiction from others: hope this helps.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
