Attached is all the resources you need. I said in the video I would share the demo file, but I don't really think that's needed! If you do want it however, ask below and if enough people want it I'll deploy and upload ^_^

Thanks Matombo! ^_^ It's a very clever method, it was actually Nimbus who suggested it to me! I had a PM since then with someone asking me for help, so I thought I'd whip this up ^_^ Cheers again!

Interestingggg. :) Might have to use this. I don't particularly like the sound of the grass, so would it be okay if I tweak it a little in a program I have? :)

Can you elaborate further, izyees? I'll try to help.

Cassta thanks! You're welcome to do what you like with it! You can change the sound effects to whatever you please :) just make sure you have the owners permission before using any sound effects. The plugin used is written by Yanfly, so if you need to make any changes to that, id contact Yanfly directly. Have fun!!

It work with arrow key but not work with mouse, when I click anywhere it move only one step, make sound and stop, it not going to the place I click.

I did something similar with just events in one of my games (this plugin makes it much easier!). One thing I'll add: Instead of doing a simple "play SE" event, you can set up a variable and randomize a range and have each one call the same sound at a slightly different volume and pitch, that way you get a variety of similar footsteps instead of the same exact sound with every single step. I even set mine to check if the shift button is being pressed, and if so, it calls a heavier, louder version to simulate a change in sound if the character is running.

I also have a Google Drive for sharing all of my resources; I have a variety of footsteps for wood, carpet, snow, stairs, tile, and grit, all of it taken from royalty-free sounds, edited by me, and credited to the original uploaders; anyone is welcome to use all of these files (check my post history for it or else I can always drop a link here, I'm also willing to try to get them on other file sharing sites if anyone doesn't want to use GDrive).

Syndicate, thank you for the tutorial, but! footsteps sounds appears only after the actual movement of the character, or rather at the moment when the character stops moving. Get a slight delay between movement and sound. The sound is delayed by step (this delay can be clearly seen if you change the speed of movement).

Any ideas how to make the sound of footsteps started earlier?

UPD

second issue

If i use this method to create the sound of steps, then after this method no longer work random encounters with enemies that are configured in the main settings of the map.

Hi Syndicate,

Would you have any idea on how to have this work for Movement Route and Event movement rather than player movement only?
