Hello community. As always, you are my last hope. =\

I've already posted a thread on steam, but nobody answered.

 

I was quite impressed when I saw RPGMMV finally ready to release. But as long as I start to work and renew my old project (from VX version, which I foung slightly disturbing cause I need to literally re-make my work from zero) I found a bug. Now my program is not running and texting back a launch error.

 

Here is my guide to reproduce it.

 

1) Both versions of MV and VX opened. (two monitors)

2) Photoshop is opened

3) I've edited an autotile in the photoshop, saved it and tried to update my database in MV (by clicking on tileset database after the saving and switched 'area type'/'field type' in zone mode.)

4) For some reason after some tile updates and zone mode changes MV has crashed and stopped working.

 

- I've got zero tilesets in my project except edited one.

- I've got no scripts running.

 

The bug is in the tiles database update function. While it was able to do with one click in VX in resource manager, I didn't know how to handle it in MV (guess it's working automatically). 

 

Today I was hoping that new update would fix the crash. But I was too positive for that.

Update didn't fix anything, placing opengl32.dll into the RPGMMV folder didn't help, re-installing programm didn't help. 

VX version works fine. 

 

Any suggestions what to do next? =\

 

Win7 x64

I5 3.1Ghz

8GB Ram

AMD radeon R7 512mb

 

I can actually continue to work in VX, but.... I still have hope.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
