uhm, is there a blank tileset?
I don't think there is in this topic. For tilesets B-E you would use a 768x768 image, and set a grid to 48x48.
Gimp has transparency and grid capabilities. I think Paint.net, another free program, does as well. And then there is Photoshop.
For the A sheet tiles, you should be able to look in the Resource Standards section of the help manual to find the dimensions for those. They will still use a 48x48 grid.
Another easy way to see the layout is to simply open up some of the default resources.
not exactly, because that would have only limited value.
1) tilesets are composed of up to nine tilesheets in the database
2) there are six different formats for those tilesheets, one each for A1 to A5 and the sixth format for B-E slots.
3) ONLY the sheets for A5 and for uppertiles can be given a similiar sheet to the ones in the first post.
4) Tilesheets A1 to A4 contain four different structures containing autotile-bases, not regular tiles.
And unfortunately, autotiles are not easy to create - there are tutorials available that tell you how to construct autotiles, but they basically require you to know what you're doing, you can't create an autotile from a template (because an autotile-base contains 20 quarter-tiles in a very specific structure).
Search the blog (top right) for the tutorial "Anatomy of an autotile", that will explain those in more details and show you why you can't create autotiles in a simple template.
Nice Templates. Save me a lots.
The link to the MV full database is giving me a 404 error. Was it backed up elsewhere?
I'm guessing it's because Dropbox did away with the default public folder or something like that not too long ago. So anything in those folders got moved or made private or something. At any rate @Archeia can you look at it whenever you have time? @D.L. Yomegami it might be a while before she has a chance.
Perhaps someone has it that could share it for the time being?
Do with have the database somewhere else now that Dropbox doesn't work?
thanks for your time.
This was super useful! Thank you so much for these!
I use this for Tilesets, hope you will find it useful.
BTW anyone made one for MV's Big Monsters? (If so please could you indulge-me please a link?)
Send me the original file and I will create a grid for it
Woops! I missed that message. No can't do! They are in the original sprite folder of MV and therefore not mine to send.
is the database not here anymore?
@sakitsu which database are you referring to? The images for the templates are still showing.
Ah, I think I see what you are referring to - the database in post #2?
I know this is a bit old but this is very easy to make just open an existing tileset in PS rectangular marquee the whole thing, copy and then create new and it will automatically make the exact size and stuff then turn on grids.
The database isn't working.
@Toxin97 What database are you referring to? All the images in the opening post seem to be working.
@Toxin97 If you have the Steam version, you can find the database in your DLC folder. Not sure where to find it if you're using the standalone version.
