Hi. I have a significant problem with new games and projects. I have the latest RPG Maker MV version which is 1.6.1 and every time I convert a project to a game, and want to make modifications, appears this error message on the screen. Not only that, some times when I'm working in a project, specially when i alter a character's stat, also appears this error message. I had no problem with older versions, but since 1.5.1, I have this problem. I downloaded the new version hopping that it would disappear but on contrary, the error is always present.
I have no dlc installed and my version is not steam.

Thank you.

I've moved this thread to MV Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Unfortunately that error means the project cannot access that file. Usually it is due to the file being corrupted somehow, which requires a backup of the project to fix it. The only other way it can occur is if the file is read-only which shouldn't occur, but is still something to check.

please give the full filepath to your projects, beginning from drivbe letter to index.html

There are several ways how this could happen, but most of them can be checked if the full filepath is known - things like storing the working directory in a clouddrive (use clouddrives only for backup, never for the working version) or illegal symbols in the directory names.

if that doesn't fins anything you should also use a program like checkdrive to check if your HDD is approaching end-of-life.

I have the projects in a partition D. The full path is "D:\GameZone\Gogo\Project*\. Where * is the number of the project. I don't like to put them in partition C:, because I use windows 10 and everything in this partition is protected by the system. The partition D: is an independent HDD of 2tb. of witch I always work with a minimum of 300 Gb of free space.

Windows 10 automatically checks the drivers for errors and defragments them, so I would say there are no problems with any of my drivers

unfortunately that assumption is wrong.
all windows driver automatics that I know of (everything pre W10) have always had a tendency to prefer microsoft-created drivers. and the microsoft driver are usually optimized for DirectX - but RMMV needs OpenGL instead of DirectX.
And there are a few other points where I usually disagree with Microsofts decisions about "optimization", which is why I prefer to use the manufacturer's drivers over those provided by microsoft.

EDIT:
as for your original error - is the drive external over USB or internal?
If it's over USB the sync between the drive and your computer might have failed, and you would need to clean up your system devices to get everything working again.

I solved the problem. I had to download an unofficial dlc for the rpg maker mv. I usually don't like to do such things but, in this case, I had nothing to loose. Anyway, I will not tell the dlc or anything about it as I usually not encourage to do such things.
Thank you everyone for your help

I have the same issue when I'm accessing the Windows storage directly from macOS using the file share method. Sadly the only workaround I could find was to duplicate to the Mac, edit there and copy back across the file share to reconcile the differences.

EDIT: My situation is actually one of apples vs. oranges and not directly related so apologies if this a short-turn equivalent of a necropost. However, it is something that I personally encountered and which you may want to be wary of as well if you deploy to both. Granted this is based on 1.5.2 (I'd check based on 1.6.1 as well if not for a plugin problem) so your experience may go down a bit different from mine or correct me otherwise.

EDIT 2: It is also possible that I may have to check my permissions on the Windows end (see reply one) but otherwise this is the best I could do in my own case.

Ok. Your situation it's a little different from mine 'cause I don't use doble OS. But from what you tell, you should probably put your projects on a partition independent from your windows system. I do that not only with rpgmaker projects but for every game. I install them in a different partition than my system c:. Try on that. If you want to know the plugins, I'm sorry. I will not discuss them 'cause it was the last resort I used. Try to look for them on browser. I don't condemn what other people do, but also don't support those kind of measures.

Which I acknowledged - plus it's a network share that I mentioned as part of it.

My guess is that it didn't wanna play with MV so I was saying this as it may be something to watch out for (absent a bugfix in the MV IDE regarding this matter which is admittedly beyond the scope of this discussion.). Also my current system is not set like that (and I don't want to **** it up either) and the closest I have is automatic cloud backup (similar idea, different solution and just as effective if not more). But yeah... I've had it happen.

@rafanegrortiz Would you please identify what the 'unofficial dlc' is. You can, if you prefer, pm me with the information.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
