Loading Generator Settings actually make sense because of the additional new tab (Kids). I encourage to just recreate the settings and then just save it with the new settings. Otherwise, there's not much we can do here. Either we don't add a Kid's tab or what.

Well, you could just allow to load older settings file and initialize kid from default.


I actually found that converting character generator settings is not a big deal - just save any setting from new generator, open it with text editor, and copy while "kid" key to old settings file.

There is really just one kid on the generator? Not even a boy and a girl?


And only through DLC we will get more parts? Is that it?

@Rogue Milk as with all resources, you get them either by


1) purchased shop packs


2) free resources from the community or


3) doing edits yourself.


Since the option of kid parts for the generator is less than a week old, you'll have to wait before the community adds more resources - but as you can see with the topics about other generator parts, that will happen sooner or later.


If you need them sooner or if you want more, then it's the same as with any other tile, music, icon, battler whatever: you can purchase available add-on DLC in the shop (although even there is nothing available yet, everyone has to wait for the DLC4 of the season pass for that)

Not much in there for now, but there will be options. You could buy the Season Pass, and when pack 4 is released, that will contain Kid Generator Parts. Also, other people are bound to release free parts they have created for the generator, in time.


As far as the tab, I believe they decided to make a single tab for both Male and Female children. Seeing as usually, small children look similar, physically, I can see the sense in that.

Just wanted to note something in the Script Changelog link - the line just below the screencap reads "The RPG Maker MV 1.3.2 update is out!". I think it should be fixed to the correct version to avoid confusion.

Are we allowed to add to the kid generator part? I keep reading about Kid part specific dlc, so I hope that's not the only way we're allowed to use it. I was fooling around and moving female parts into the kid parts. Everything works right minus, like, side view and stuff. For straight face portrait only, it works really well haha xD

Oh, nice, I'm glad those issues where solved, variable names resetting was a problem for me... 


If, for any reason, I need to go back to an older version, is that possible for the Steam version? 


My apologies if this has already been answered (I only had the time to quickly look at this topic), but will there be more free parts for the Kids tab of the generator or will it all be DLC?

So, is the character generator going to definitely be fixed or maybe be fixed? I have a ton of characters, recreating them would be a huge pain in the ... waiting for the fix is fine as long as it's definitely in the works.


I am also having an issue with the "remove unused files" option for deployment (worked fine before update), now games hang on a black screen (with music in the background) when loading battles, yes, not using the option fixes the problem.

@KillerGin  Yeah, I had that problem too.  Fortunately, I only had four characters to recreate, but it was unexpected because I hadn't been paying attention to the updates at the time and didn't realize that my old files were incompatible because of a kid tab that you can do barely anything with barring soon to come DLC.  It was annoying.

There is a fix for this (the generator). Let me get to a pc and dig it up. Here goes: Start with the bottom post. Note: I haven't tried this, but other people in the forum said it worked.

Thanks, that worked like a charm! I am using a mac and the text editor. Thanks for the help, I just fixed 62 .json files lol I am sure you can clearly see why I needed a fix badly. 


Now if only they can fix the deployment "remove unused files" issue. Then hopefully on its to the Android deployment issue ;0)

I think the problem with "remove unused files" in the deployment option is that it doesn't check if a file is used by a plugin or anything other than an event or within the editor. My game kept crashing straight away until I realized it was deleting my bust images (and my game starts with dialogue). 


So for now I'm sticking with MV Stripper.

The problem with remove unused files is that you need to add it in plugindesc (it's in helpfile) and quite frankly it's a pain. I would always suggest to use the MV Stripper too.

Funny, I didn't check this thread about the generator JSON's from older versions being broken and fixed it on my own just by checking the difference between the old ones and a freshly made new one.  Go figure.

The children's elf ears appear in the characters and side-view battlers of the character generator, but the adults' ears still do not appear...
