@Mooshry the kid part is limited because the kid generator is the (purchasable) DLC4 of the season pass, and they only gave a sample of it as free in the update. You need to purchase the season pass DLC4 to get all parts.

Okay, people not understanding what the update is for has been driving me crazy so I'm going to try to explain all again my way.  RMMV used to have no ability to generate kids, no place to put that generation until this software update.  Without this change to the software any number of artists could have made things for children and it would have been pretty useless.  If you find art to use in the generator that does not have this separate functionality it can be difficult or impossible to use properly.  For example, if you wanted to randomly generate a race of anthropomorphic dogs it would not be straightforward at all.  Adding in the kid tab may not seem like a whole lot without the companion files to see it in action, but the part that's important, the ability to use these files is in this update.  This ability has never been added before.  You don't even really see it all that often in programs designed specifically for character generation.  But now that the ability and the option to create things for children is there, artists can make that stuff for the generator.  People have already started stepping up and making things for it.  Adding the single character to the generator is nice, too, because it gives artists a place to start from, especially the ones who edit.  They could have easily and reasonably added no files at all and let it be at that.  Or, something they could have easily done and would have made a lot of sense, is they could have made the entirety of the children generator, including the software aspect, only be a part of buying the assets.  This software has already been bought after all.  Adding in more functionality with these updates is spending money that will have no return on the investment.  It'd actually make better business sense not to make this an update in the first place.  But they didn't do that because they care about the community and making it possible for the community to make things for it freely.  Doing it this way makes it easier on us and is providing the pathway for more and better artistic content.  Due to the reaction I'm seeing here I would not be surprised if they stop doing these sorts of favors in the future.  This is something a lot of people have been wanting for a long time and when we finally get it there are way too many complaints that it's not enough.  This has got to be making the creators rethink their choices to be generous or give us something we say we want, because from my point of view it's sounding very much like we don't actually want it, we'd actually be happier without it.

Dumb question, but can I buy this DLC 4 pack without the season pass? Not really sure what to look for if I need to buy the kid generator parts but don't want a whole season pass. Anyone know where to find and purchase that, with links?

@Zonen not at this moment. It has been promised that all four parts will be made available independently, but the only one where this happened yet is the first DLC - and that happened half a year after it was made for the season pass. There has been no word on the ETA of DLC 2-4 as independent packs.

I do agree peoples never get happy with what MV release mostly what they do is complain and complain and what people ignore it's peoples who do the update are  mostly not paid :/

I'm having trouble updating. Right after I downloaded the RPGMV_W134_Upd.exe and ran it, I got a message saying "RPG Maker MV has not been updated."

I have my MV on an external hard drive, so I'm not not sure if that has anything to do with it...

@RCDeschene the update only works if you already have the previous version installed - if your last update is older, you need to use the full installer instead of the updater (deinstall your editor, then install the new version from the linked full installer)

I LOVE that elf ears work for the Kids tab.
 


For adult Male/Female, however, the elf ears still do not work for TV, TVD, and SV characters. I attempted to add custom files to the Generator to fix this, but the software doesn't recognize TV, TVD, and SV graphics in the Ears category. The short-term work-around is putting them in the Beast ear category, but then they lose access to skin color gradients. So, my question:


Can we expect the elf ears to be fixed in the future? At least on the software side, so that we can use custom files to add ear extensions? I'll personally work on the graphics for this (and offer them to be released for free, no credit, etc) if we can get a software update to implement them.

The (adult) elf ears are the most important part to me, and so far, more than 1 year after the release of MV, they continue to be ignored by devs.

Seriously? so the "elf ears" for adult is more important than Sound lags/ Memory leaks bugs?

you should really try to understand the prioritization of game software dev in general.

@Archeia I was curious to test. I'm unsure if the latest Nwjs is supporting yet all the ES6 features 


if yes would you guys update it? (obviously at the latest supported versions in the browser)


Obviously if you guys update for support ES6 I would make sure to explain how to properly edit a javascript class : D 


(like explaining that you can still use prototype)

It makes sense that you try to focus on the squishy mages at the back of the party first, right? If the mage can out-DPS the enemy DPS before the latter can kill the tank in front, the fight becomes boring.
finally got footage of my main character running around the main hub world. I've fixed a few things tho even since this video unsurprisingly lol.
 …I think I might need to switch from standard ATK/DEF up/down buffs to parameter altering states. I just had an actor whose usual attack against an enemy does ~25 do a buffed attack against a debuffed enemy for ~600…
