Yes, I know. But if I'm hearing that there's audio and memory bugs, I want to know that's being worked on.

The üroblem here is, while there are some bugs left, most of the reports on bugs turn out to be user errors or things that are not in the responsibility of the engine.

.

For example the memory leaks - all the engine's memory leaks are fixed (the last fix is available as a community fix, it was forgotten to include it in a past update but it should either be in now or be added shortly officially). All remaining memory leaks after that fix is in turned out to be caused by plugins, and in those cases it's the plugin writer that needs to fix them, the engine (and Degica) can't fix bugs created by plugins.

On the music bugs - I estimate there's 50/50 - there are some real bugs, but a lot of the reported problems are cause by wrong music files or by the fact that any internet-deployable game needs asynchronous loading of its resources (which will cause delays in music files that are larger, simply due to download times) or similiar things.

And hearing about "unspecified errors from some unknown internet source" (a source that might be old/outdated or wrong or not valid) after a lot of work went into the program to fix those bugs, is not nice to the developers who put in that work.

If you, specifically, encounter a problem, then follow the bug report procedures (which require you to reproduce the error in a default project without plugins) to report it.

That will tell all (including yourself) if you did find an unknown bug (might be possible, no software is ever perfect) or if that was something cause from other sources or a misunderstanding on how the programs work or whatever.

If I'm updating FROM 1.2.0 do I just use the Full Installer?

@WulfyRoxas you'll need to deinstall the old version before you can use the full installer, but yes that is the better way - deinstall 1.2 and then use the full installer.

There have been too many changes since 1.2.0 for the simple updater to work.

I really hope there will be, I still have a ton of features I want to have implemented, but some of them were already shot down, like the !=, =, >, < option for variables on the event pages. (it would sooo help me with making quest chains....)
Also there is the implementation of the languages and such, I bet there will be small changes and things added along the way.

Unlike back in the early 90, nowdays a product is never finished, and patches need to keep comming, or there might be a big loss in future sales since the product will be considered dead by alot of people, "I will wait, for the next version, this one is already dead..." and comments like it will spawn. (next version here is Rpg Maker XX instead of MV, not version like 1.3.6)

Anyways, thanks for the "kid" tab... I wonder if I am able to remake it into a tab for flying sprites... hmm....

If the last sentence were true, and at some point they release a new RPG Maker before MV has a major update with fixes for the languages, editor, sound lag and delay and implementation of pre-load manager, I swear this is the last product I buy from Kadokawa, Degica Games and/or related with RPG Maker. I spent a quantity of money for a product like this, and if they say they will release a new RPG Maker before completing this one with the 'promised' fixes... well, nobody wants to treat money like trash, you know?

I'm still waiting for news, I know the developers cannot talk about some things, but at least they need to speak with the community an tell to the customers what it's gonna be or what not, you know? It's almost a year and half since the release, and here we are... just waiting for the day this major updates arrive. :rsad:

All of us know what happened with the implementation of Pixi4 to the editor. So much hype, and then... nothing. Yeah, for what I understand, for FPS drops and graphic bugs and lag, it was like a 'miracle' to have Pixi4 implemented. But the rest are things I don't know...

Now the hype it's for the implementation of the rest of the fixes to come, like I said a million times before: sound lag, sound delay, and pre-load manager.

On a general note, guys, speculation helps nobody. There was no mention of a 'new' RM by the staff. If it's not said by staff, it's heresay. If you look at the release dates of RM engines, it's usually 2-3 years between each iteration, and its likely it will be longer than that for MV because unlike it predecessors it is getting updates, has a far more generalized programming language, higher res, etc etc.

Other than that, I'm kinda glad I got the Steam version! I did so bc I always lose my goddamn key to anything and everything and it's very likely I'll be updating hardware in the next year, so having a system that permanently knows I own a game/software (and updates it for me!) is really nice. Should...ah...probably check the changelog, though. Pft. Didn't even realize kids were implemented.

edit: did it seriously censor g*d d*amn. i'm sorry kiddies.

You guys, you seriously cannot expect us to update in our usual schedule when we are so busy with pretty much everything and listening to everyone's feedback. We updated the forums and currently fixing bugs here too because of all the issues and complaints we receive and we are still updating RPGMaker MV.

We're still an 'indie company'. We're not some AAA company with over 100+ members. RPG Maker Web doesn't have that enough manpower.

Whoever is in handling the forums is almost the same as the Maker Update with the exception of like 3 people. Yes, we are still working on updates. No, we don't know when we'll release yet. No, I cannot tell you what's going to be in the update because I don't want us to get backlash for not implementing something yet because it does happen.

Our last release is November 24, it's still February 4. Including Dec. ~ Jan. Holidays and Weekends, we're almost not even 2 months yet and our updates arrive at 2-3 months interval. You guys are panicking again.

As @Vanitas said, RPG Maker has a 'pattern' before it releases any 'new maker.' If we say we'll stop updating we'll say it. :kaoslp:

RPG Maker VXA and MV is the first time to get updated and bug fixes by the English community. If you wanted MV's 'complete' version it would've been Version 1.0.1 by the JP dev.

That's made think that one of your admins, Mithran, made a wonderful script on Ace to detect any memory leak caused by scripts.
Mithran thank you for this script you made, I miss it on Mv, I hope you're well *wave*

Hello. With regard to updating the developer's words:
Hi Alexandr,
Thank you for contacting RPG Maker Support!

Our development team is still working on RPG Maker MV, so 1.3.4 is not a final update.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Best Regards,
Elle
So do not cheat that the update will no longer be. Updates will. At least one.

Is that 1.3.4 version include all the previous patch and standalone?

Or should I patch some previous version beforehand in order to install 1.3.4?

What in the world are you saying? I just said that there's going to be updates, I AM part of the development team. Where did we say that there isn't?

Is that 1.3.4 version include all the previous patch and standalone?

Or should I patch some previous version beforehand in order to install 1.3.4?

You just need 1.3.4

I was planning on getting new character management feature into Character Generator, but my recent illness has delayed this somewhat. I will try and get it done today (which would be a miracle) but if not, I will have to complete the whole lot by Tuesday. This should hopefully be fine and all other feature updates should not have their target dates affected.

I've been watching videos about the videogame streamer Open Hand charity scandal, and the rabbit hole keeps getting deeper. At first it was just a lot of donated money being grossly neglected for years, and now there's a lot of money unaccounted for, which could turn this into a legitimate IRS crackdown.
Let's have some fun with my advent calendar. What would you like to see for Day 3: land, sea, or air? :rheh:
I've been thinking about doing a jokey submission for the Christmas jam in which, like a cartoon special where all the characters "play" a counterpart in A Christmas Carol, my MagiCats would each play a role from the C.A. Smith story The Coming of the White Worm, with Cyprian as Evagh, Rousalie as Dooni and so forth. But in the end, I figure all my development efforts should go toward the game proper.
