RPG Maker MV - v1.6.1 Beta

    Hi everyone,

    We have now released version 1.6.1 in beta.

    Based on currently stable v1.5.2, v1.6.1 updates nw.js and fixes 2 outstanding bugs.

    To select it:
    - Open up your Libray / Software section
    - Right click on RPG Maker MV and open up the properties menu
    [​IMG]
    - From the BETA tab, enter the password "openbetatestbranch" and click on OK
    - Select v1.6.1 from the "Select the beta..." dropdown
    - Steam will update, and you can check that the update is complete when RPG Maker MV displays as RPG Maker MV [v1.6.1] in you software list.

    We would like to remind everyone to make sure to do the following steps before updating to ensure that when the update happens so your changes won’t be overwritten:
    • Backup your game! This is important!
    • If you haven't already, set RPG Maker MV's update to manual instead of automatic.

    Make a backup of your Generator folder if you edited it.
    Replace BGM files if you got it from 1.3.0.

    V1.6.1 fixes:
    • Update nwjs to version 0.29.0
    • Fix to the loop interruption bug in embedded loops
    • Fix to the InvalidStateError after playing ME

    Projects made in version 1.5.2 or lower needs the following changes to be edited with v1.6.1:
    • Copy the file "package.json" from NewData in your project
    • Copy the file "rpg_core.js" from NewData/js to your project js folder

    Nice. I've downloaded the beta and I am testing it out. No major breaks so far. Although I had to replace the package.json (which it was stuck from the older 1.6.0) since it caused performance issues.

    Tested it. It's a bit heavier on the cpu due to new version of NW.js, but works fine. All bugs of 1.6.0 are away while the functionality is kept.

    This update seems to have solved the loading problem my game had(some times it wouldn't load, others it would and wouldn't show any error on console)

    To update, just download the Standalone version and run the update old processes? (JS folde and index etc)

    @Poryg Does that mean that the nefarious Tileset event bug that caused the maker to crash in 1.6.0 is gone in 1.6.1?

    @OmnislashXX She comes from RPG Maker FES, so you'll have to get the FES Resource DLC to get her.

    @Storyteller-Hero There is no knowing, as compatibility is on a per plugin basis.

    I'd like to report an error with 1.6.1 for existing games:
    When you try to click to move the character in perfectly 1.6.1 updated existing game, you get this error.

    1.6.1 is a different architecture.
    Yanfly will need to update their scripts.

    This is actually noticeable in your stacktrace due to at Scene_Map.update (YEP_CoreEngine.js: 1248)
