Wooo bigger resolutions! I'd buy it for that alone. As long as they let you import older Vx Ace projects and it uses same script ''foundations'' (not sure how to call that) so that the Vx Ace scripts are compatible. Otherwise it's going to be quite limited for anyone who doesn't have any scripting knowledge.

Very excited to see the ability to export to mobile and the return of 3 separate layers, and I'm not gonna complain about having a sideview battle system, too.  Wonder what kind of Scripting it will support?

If this turns out to be any good, I might consider remaking my current project in this new engine. Still, nice to see that they're working on something new.


Really glad to see them return side-view battles and 3-layer mapping.

  • Support for both touch controls and mouse controls. (Interesting and essential for the first feature)

I am excited already. But.... I want to state something here. There should be a new RTP included too, so we could benefit from the past things we own, including the new one.

Not an issue really.

I wonder, did they fixed  their performance issues? I mean, will RGSS4 be better scripted?

Now this might interesting. I doubt we will be able to easily convert previous work into this new maker, because of new layer mapping system. Well, might as well create a new one :)

I wonder about the details of some of the new features.

Too bad the pic is of too low resolution, I can only read the headlines. But I'm sure we'll hear plenty about it soon enough.

Really, really interesting. I'm definitely going to be paying attention to this to see what comes of it. Multi-device support is an awesome feature. I like the return of side battles. The touch and mouse controls would be something that's fun to play around with, and three layered maps is great.

The other bullet points are good too, but the bolded ones are the big ones for me.

Three layered mapping is really nice :D

You can create more complex maps more easily.

The other features are good as well.

Also I'm really excited how the new RTP will look like.

Definitely will keep an eye on this.

I hope extended database and mapping also means, bigger tilesheets. Having unlimited tilesheets like XP would be fantastic!

A new RTP would be nice, but that means a higher price as well. In any case, the pictures show new characters, so there'll be probably new character sprites at least.

Having unlimited tilesheets like XP would be fantastic!
Problem with that is that unlimited tilesheets have disadvantages as well - the larger the tilesheet becomes, the more problematic will be it's use from a processing/computer point of view.
It would help if they organise the tilesheet structure better, but I would prefer if developers still have to think about how to organise and plan their tilesets instead of just lumping everything together.

I hope it actually uses RGSS3 as a base, or RGSS3 with full access to the hidden classes... And maybe an export tool for data... And also maybe installer creator too. Anyway, I still have lots of things to have fun with Ace, so unless there are really big improvements or an option to import Ace projects I'll stick with Ace

Export to mobile might be good for me, I'd be able to share the games with most of my friends who doesnt play on PC.
