Will the non-Steam edition still require online authentication, like it almost always does? The System Requirements section doesn't mention it.
Yes you still have to activate the product. (Though there is an offline activation function, you just have to email our support for it).

As a Revenue Management and Channel Distribution professional I am puzzled by why the team worked on releasing this on a third party platform before direct channel... Probably a ton of people pre-purchased via Steam where you now lost profit due to commission... Plus now those people will continue to use Steam to purchase any future add-ons so you will continuously lose profit.

Not all of us absolutely need a discounted Bundle S. If you gave us an option to even just purchase each of those separately directly via your website, it would actually help YOUR bottom line.

So can you please convey this message and let the team know - important thing is to have the products available first, while they continue to figure out how to "bundle" it together. Not everyone is price sensitive and you're losing that revenue potential right now.

I've been holding off on the pre-order from Steam hoping that the store here would get the massive bundle ready before launch... I'm going to wait til the final day before buying with the discount because I really want all of my money to go to the devs and not Steam's greedy fingers.

@Touchfuzzy any news on this front to if you think the team will get the bundles up on the shop here in time? :(

@Ahuramazda I'm in the same boat, but more for selfish reasons - I want the client stand-alone, not tied to steam, but I want the bundle. However, I'm pretty sure Touchfuzzy has said before that there are pros and cons for the devs whether you buy it through steam or the store, and so at the end of the day to just do what works for you.

So... 15 August right now, just 5 days left...
Have to lose all the discounts except for the standalone mz one which is the only one I can enjoy right now? I guess so. RIP the discounts to use the saved money on other RMW resources...

Why Couldn't just do like you did with MV preorder? Where did the config used there went to?

I have the mv cover art and many more things from the MV preorder, why you just didn't delayed a bit more the launch date until make totally sure everything goes at same time in both stores? I guess the answer is JP release time, so, maybe the world situation made your team react a bit later, well, I can be wrong, but regardless the reason is, is a shame :(

I just hope the staff team can at least release another kind of bundle pack for RMW if it's day 19 and still can't release the full bundle. Solutions I think:
1 - Release the full bundle on day 20 but with two (or more? can't remember the preorder original duration) weeks duration on RMW Store while also extending the preorder end date on Steam if Steam allows to do that (3rd party policies can be a trouble).
2 - Just release a RESOURCE BUNDLE including all the mentioned EXCEPT the MZ program license, which must be purchased separately like right now in the RMW Store, and extend the preorder duration on RMW Store.
3 - Just get the way to release the bundles as intended, but due the delayed time extend its preorder duration on RMW store only (very reasonable, otherwise there will be "discrimination" between rmw and steam customers more than just the chance to use an activation code in both places )

There are solutions.

I guess that regardless of the decisions above there won't be any issue since all sides (talking about the persons involved with the preorder sales) would perfectly understand the reason of the decision to don't lose purchases (I almost forgot about it by the way, having so many people in "standby" harms the chance of sales specially now, maybe the persons holding their wallets gets a reason to spend the saved money on other priorities!).

Hope to see it available soon! My fridge starts to scream :rtear:

PS: U know, I use caps for highlight not for shouting!

Oh! I can answer that:
We're working on it!
Like the preview of the DLC..

Maybe the marketing department thinks it is better if people do not see the content before they buy it..

no, the problem is that Degica is only the distributor, not the producer. Kadokawa tells them what needs to be done when, and any added things need to go to japan to be approved.

and unfortunately for a lot of japanese companies, the international market takes second place to the home market.

And Kadokawa tells Degica it is a good idea to sell graph packs with a poor preview? And that this is okay for all markets? The idiots are already buying?

Trinit, the bigest Pack has 2!! Pictures?

@Jitsu The Steam screenshots aren't ideal, but I'm pretty sure plenty of those "idiots" have already seen what the Trinity pack contains by visiting the MV Trinity official website.

Actually you're totally right. I forgot my MV bundle I purchased via directly via website also included a ton of free materials. So why can't this be done for MZ? Very perplexing. Again, as someone who specializes on e-commerce, revenue management, and distribution, I feel like this was a serious loss for the team (and win for Steam).

I have an understanding for when something doesn't work right away, but that's been on the site for almost a month now.

I'm rather concerned as well, but from what the stream said yesterday the team that makes that happen should be working on it sometime tomorrow. Wouldn't put much stock in that, as it's possible I may have misheard. I'm contemplating just buying the original edition here on the website but I don't want to miss out on the discounts provided by the bundles so I'm just kind of stuck until the 19th where I have to make a decision.

I don't know if we will be able to offer bundles with DLC on the official website before the release of MZ, but I have the impression that they will not. So I pre-ordered what is here now so that the creators have a little more from the sale than on Steam. If it will doesn't be possible here, I'll buy the rest of the bundle on Steam (after deducting the already purchased MZ, the S bundle is still offered with a 15% discount).

@Killuki Zaoldyeck If it helps the discount is only for the engine itself, the other packs are still fullprice but you're buying them in one lump. I might just buy from the webstore and hope that the trinty pack will go up on midnight (Eastern US) on steam and be downloadble then rather then having to wait until the afternoon.

@Touchfuzzy Don't you think there was a misunderstanding about the Steam bundles? I don't remember any original Steam bundle for any RPG Maker being offered here on the official store either. For example, is there an RPG Maker MV - Asian Bundle in the store? These two bundles are simply just a matter of Steam store. Here, the individual items from the bundles will be sold individually like all other DLCs in the RPG store. For many, it may be misleading that the individual items do not appear here in the store, but it would suffice to state that they will be available on the day the MZ is released, as stated on Steam. If someone thinks it's part of a pre-order, it's not. It is only a temporarily discounted MZ with pre-order bonuses which is the same here and on Steam, so even if someone expected more, they have to come to terms with it. Just this time, instead of other free content, there is also an older MV among the bonuses. Some would rather refuse the MV and want more content for the MZ, and some people want it the way it is. That's how I see it.

P.S.: And thanks for the live stream.

I'm not sure why the free MV version is such a problem for some here. It's given for free so that people who are very new and without RPG-Maker to be able to start working on something right away until MZ is out. That's all. It's given out for free which doesn't mean you can ask for something else because it has no value to you.

So... preorder includes DRM-FREE RPG Maker MZ or is only the Steam key?
And whats OS are supported? MV was available at least for Windows and Linux (and builds for all platforms + mobile).

You're wrong, there's a 15% discount applied at the end!
Full price is 144,64€ including the 20% discount on the engine.
Then, a 15% discount is applied at the end which ends to 122,94€ (You save 21,7€, which could be invested on other resource pack or future paid scripts for example!).

Also, keep in mind the savings due the currency conversion, Steam conversion sometimes is sightly higher!

Update... no scam calls all day. I think they learned their lesson. And I'm working on a fake anti-piracy video, featuring a fan game I'm making in MV. If I had the permission to make the game a licensed game that I could sell (rather than having it totally free like fan games are required to be), I'd use a really cool anti-piracy screen...
