I'm calling this out now.
The next RPG Maker will have the character name spelled as:
KADOKAWA

That was actually my guess for RPG Maker MZ before someone pointed out that it's going to be RPG MAKER for RMMZ.

@Touchfuzzy, are you able to let us know when details of things like changes to eventing and addition of other gameplay features will be released?

Conditional branches could do with a boost, in my opinion. Being able to either check things about specific actors by either party member index or by actor id held in a variable would save bunging in a lot of script calls into events.

About 3 variables attached to each actor and accessible through the editor by actor's id and party index would have lots of uses.

An increase in self-switches for events, and maybe the introduction of a self-variable or two would also be lovely, if it could be achieved without pain.

Improvement of random encounters by different rates of encounter per region, with the ability to control by variables would make them a lot more viable.

I would also be interested in anything like passive states built in, or groups of items, classes, actors, weapons, items etc. that could share similar traits editable in one place.

Please don't feel under pressure - you have quite a difficult job to do to please forum members whilst conforming to your employer's policy. If you can't answer me, no problem.

So I noticed Yanfly specifically mentions "core plugins" multiple times in the video... Yanfly had a core plugin pack that was free, I wonder if those are the plugins they intend to bring over.

Just for the people that keep asking for Yanfly's plugins in MZ, they recently uploaded a video answering your doubts:

If he decided to port it I might buy MZ even more.

Well core plugins are essential in a lot of yanfly's, so it probably on their highest priority list.

I'm maybe a bit ashamed to say this.. but i hardly touched Yanfly's plugins.. i think i used ONE plugin he made at one point, and i had to edit it to get the effect i wanted out of it..
Otherwise.. they weren't anything i wanted or had a need for...
I'm not trying to imply anything here.. i'm happy for folks who love his work.
I'm just not super excited.
When he retired though, i could understand why.
I'm sure it was effecting his health and maybe even his sanity (we all know how some folks in the community can get) so i was happy to see him think of himself for a change.
I can only imagine the things he went through..

Glad to hear about Yanfly's plans. People really like his plugins and use it a lot, it's really a game changers. It's good news that people will be can use them in MZ too. It's will help to migrate many project from MV to MZ.

Before this news, I was planning to make a series of plugins very similar (in functionality) to some Yanfly's to help people continue using their favorite features on MZ, but now I can put more effort and time in my own projects.

Another situation where i just sort of interpreted what i thought they were going for.
This one i'm not exactly happy with... but I hate working on the same thing for too long.
And this one took longer than i would have liked.
Since i have not figured out the animation software yet.. anyone else out there want to try it and show me how it turns out?

I never used anything by him. Not even once. XD Glad I'm not alone. Was starting to feel like an alien.

Same here. We make our own plugins for better performance and besser usecase. Of course there are a lot of nice plugins! But I don't use them. (That doesn't mean those plugins are bad or something like this xD)

I hope the next reveal is about map creation among other things, and I still have like 5% hope left that we might get the option of in-editor 16x16 or 32x32 tile size support.
If so, consider me WOWed and a future day one MZ owner.

If not I might consider switching to a 3 times upscale for 16x16 tiles, but I might not be a day one buyer and wait for a sale instead.

I'm only going to say this on the subject of Yanfly:

The reason I used his plugin cores and would love to see them in MZ is the power of his Lunatic Notetags. (Well, I also want DragonBones for reasons you may see from my sig :LZSwink:)

These noetags allowed those of us with basic coding skills to create specialised effects that would normally require an entire plugin per effect.

-A state that adds a random debuff at the end of each turn?
-A state which explodes on receiving lightning damage?
-A skill which does more damage based on how much you took in the previous turn?

Yes, I made each of these with some clever franken-scripting from yanfly's tip and trick videos. No, I could not for the life of me create a plugin from scratch that'd achieve the same results.
