Maaaan, Japan, once again on the expensive side for whatever reason. Despite people being paid way less for work, stuff is still usually more expensive here.

Seems that holds true for MZ too...:kaocry:

Well @Touchfuzzy I still would like to ask this question: MZ will be the same as MV for exporting games to mobile devices or is there something new about it?

Thanks to region pricing, I can actually afford rpg maker MZ. And for those who are planning to buy the software here is the pricing per region (without MV discount) from steamdb https://steamdb.info/app/1096900/

To give some context to this for anyone sat there wondering "Why's it so cheap in Argentina?", according to WorldData.info, the average annual US salary is $65,760 USD. Argentina is $11,200 USD.

This is why their game prices are so much lower, regional pricing is based on local economies. It looks at what people in that country can actually afford. A publisher would rather get lots of sales at $10 than zero sales at $70.

That said, the UK's average salary is $42,370, only two thirds of America's average salary, but the engine actually costs more here! The system doesn't always work as intended...

Well, the average income doesn't reflect the richness distribution, you can purchase a russian copy for 14 euro (while I spend 62), but lately I sold an antique book to a russian collector for above 180.000 euro (not speaking the mass of new rich russians coming to Italy to spend holydays). Probably russian richness is not well distributed.
And probably again in the UK you have less floating in incomes.
62 euro for a pro app sound high compared to italian average income of 1200 euro/month, but this sum count a very large number of unemployed or part time individuals that probably have a 350/500 euro month income alone - the actual average is about 2000-2500 euro/month to keep your family up - richness is not well distributed indeed.

Not sure how many superrich people buy & use RPG Maker, though.

Well, if I were superrich I would just quit my job and use that time for a lot of other stuff, including a lot of RPG Making :rheh:

I'm wondering. Is there still any returned unseen functionality from previous RMs.
I mean, is there anything else in MZ, like RPG Maker 2003? Or has all the old functionality already been shown?

Looks like I'll be getting MZ to avoid finding/writing plugins to accomplish the same features for MV.

Well, while that is kinda true, in Japan it’s actually more expensive than in the US, despite you being paid a whole lot more working in U.S.

But that’s not just MZ. The laptop I’m currently looking to buy is ~1500$ in U.S. while at the same time being 3000(!)$ in Japan. Just about all ”stuff” is more expensive here, despite the working class being worse off.

My theory is that Japanese people, despite being poorer, fork up the cash. They are used to higher prices and they accept it. So the market charge it.

makes me frustrated As h*ll.

I would say exactly the same about Brazil, except for the part about forking the cash.

About all those portraits and busts that comes with the MZ RTP (and Bundled DLC’s)... do any of them have variations for emotions/expressions?

That’s something I’m super curious about.

I'll say this now.
My issues with MZ has little to nothing to do with price.
I think the pricing is perfect.
I think i just expected a little more than what we've learned.
Since i never finish RPGs, i rather just wait and see about plugins and maybe upgrades that come later to the software.
Maybe some nice tools and such.
Not saying i don't want it.... just that i hate to get it and never make anything nor finish anything.

@Touchfuzzy Anything particularly new in the message system (beside the show name window)? Or is that for another time? I am kind of peeking at features and planning out plugins.

Only change to the message system was the show name window bit.

@Touchfuzzy Anything changed about the "note" system mainly used by a "notetag" system with other plugins?
Is the note box larger or is there a possibility to expend the note window by clicking on a button next to it?

Also, are windows in MZ re-sizable in any way (especially is it possible to make them LARGER)?

I always told my DA fans how much I hate slot machines. They're fine in games as a risk-and-reward system. But when you're spending REAL MONEY in a Vegas casino to try and hit the jackpot (which very, very few people will), it can really hurt your budget. Gambling is a bad habit, and I don't like wasting my money on a slim chance. Go to Vegas for the experience, not the jackpot.
