All in all, I give it a solid Meh/10
But I'm def excited by proxy for all the people that are getting it when it comes out!
Glad you all finally got a release date and a price, and here's to hoping all your desired features were included :D

How much fine tuning can we do with the autosave feature? Does it just go by entering a new map or can we fine tune it some?
There isn't any tweaking in editor, but it is very overzealous from what I've noticed. So I imagine if anything people would want to tone DOWN the number of autosaves, which in general removing autosave triggers would probably be pretty simple for a plugin (in comparison to adding new ones).

*waits patiently for a Linux release* There's no hurry, I don't want it till Mog's Star Ocean Battle System comes out anyway. :LZSwink:

Solid conveniences in this, nice to not need something like Community Basic/Yanfly Core for resolution. Event tab looks nice, especially for someone who doesn't even use tiles. Autosave seems cool. I'll reserve judgement on the touch interface till I see it in action. Seems promising though.

I just looked, and it appears to be every map transfer and on battle end, if enabled....so yeah...a tad bit overzealous lol.

I'm really going to have to get into a new habit of naming events. I almost never do until it becomes annoying lol.

Yeah the on battle end one was the part I felt was overzealous. Especially because I was testing an event in which I made a dumb error which was causing infinite battle triggers and it had autosaved between two of those infinite spawning battles... and that was kind of funny.

YEAAAGHGHHHH

Really showing my roots that my instinctive reaction to the menu is "wheeeee yume nikki fangame optimization ♥♥♥" but seriously, most of my game ideas involve no combat/equips, so this is super convenient to quick set-up.

The ability to move the menu around is a REALLY big sell to me, sad to say. I just love the visual of a title screen taking up an entire side of the screen, then a little spot set aside for the menu. It's hard to get some good artistic direction when it's stuck in the middle like that. Can't wait for an animated title screen plugin to get released so I will become artistically Unleashed

The touch optimization looks slick, and I love the UI. I actually hated MV's windows so it's nice to see MZ strikes a balance between generic and visually satisfying. Honestly, sad but true; I often never downloaded MV RTP games because I find so much about it grating to look at. This is justice for the many.

When I wake up I hope to god there will be updates on pre-ordering (and pre-order bonus...?)

Sorry if any of my questions have been answered. Thread's moving faster than I can keep up with and I wanted to get my initial thoughts down.

The Event List sounds kind of handy. Finding an event on the map's not really a problem I've ever had, but this seems like the sort of quality of life improvement that, once I have it, I'll wonder how I ever got anything done without it.

Autosave... Curious how this works? Is it on a timer? Is it on entering a new map? Is it an event command? It's definitely a feature players have come to expect as standard so it's nice to have this without needing plug-ins.

Title Screen Command Offset... Yeah, this could be handy but I always find the default title screens look incredibly "RPG Maker" and often use workarounds to make custom title screens. For example, plug-ins that skip the title screen altogether and the first map being a custom made one.

Item Categories is something that just makes sense. I sort of find it weird that, as you highlighted, MV only did half the job in this regard. Good to see it addressed.

Advanced Settings, yes, this is a massive improvement! Pretty much everything I use Yanfly Core for is now covered by the editor. I don't know why we didn't have this years ago.

Mouse and touch updates... Not something I'll make much use of personally, but nice to know the people who play my games will have more, and improved, options for controls.

Release date and price, just over a month away and actually pretty decent after converting $ USD to £ GBP. There's a good chance I'll pick this up on launch day.

Confirmed on the japanese official website :
If enabled, data will be saved in the slot dedicated to auto save after the battle ends and after changing locations

Really nice little tweaks for a very inflexible UI. With MV it felt stupid to use plugins for things like hiding item categories or setting up the aspect ratio.

So my first MZ plugin is going to be one that changes autosave to work on a timer. Cool to know!
I was thinking it might actually be better to take manual control over the autosave by deactivating the option,
and just use a script call when we wish to autosave.
Random autosave sounds just way too dangerous.

If I do a plugin for that it'll allow for time-based or just a script call to autosave.

@Touchfuzzy First off, I'm sold, I'm throwing the RPG Maker devs money as soon as this drops.

However, my question from the previous thread remains, what are the map size and database limitations, and are the same as or bigger than in RPG Maker MV, which had to chop map sizes in half from VX Ace.

@Touchfuzzy According to the japanese official website :
It is possible to transfer projects created with RPG Maker MV.
*Please check the Help and be sure to back up before taking over.
*Plug-in data cannot be inherited.
Is Degica also backing that claim ?
If so, you better have a hell of a Help file.
I can forsee a lot of people asking why it's not working as advertised.

I always told my DA fans how much I hate slot machines. They're fine in games as a risk-and-reward system. But when you're spending REAL MONEY in a Vegas casino to try and hit the jackpot (which very, very few people will), it can really hurt your budget. Gambling is a bad habit, and I don't like wasting my money on a slim chance. Go to Vegas for the experience, not the jackpot.
Took the kids to a corn maze. They gave us a map and had lights at certain points in the maze. Not overwhelming... or underwhelming... just... whelming.
Okay, vacuuming fruit flies out of the air is surprisingly effective.
Finally finished my menu redesign after like a month of coding! I hate designing menus... Good news though - I thought of a complete redesign for it now, so yay...
Still no scam calls all day... also I got a quick gig designing a mascot drawing for a small business, so I might actually make some green of my own after all. That would be a perfect job for me, since I love art and digital design.
