Thank you for using RPG Maker MZ, as always, we appreciate your support! We hope you are enjoying it so far. The latest update, Version 1.2.0, is now live with some major updates and bug fixes!
Major Updates
  • NW.js has been updated to v 0.51.0.
  • Effekseer has been updated to v 1.53b

RPG Maker MZ Effekseer has been updated with better performance.

Bug Fixes: Editor
  • Crash on M1 Mac
  • Screen not being displayed on Big Sur OS
  • On Mac, If you play RPG Maker in full screen and start a tutorial, it would go to the Mac home screen. It is now fixed.
  • The deployment option, remove unused files, ignores files that were chosen by plugin commands.
  • User are unable to set up parameters the first time when there is no @desc after an @command
  • Fixed an issue with move route command where it movement preview will not work when moving from auto to manual.
  • Fixed the bug that would prevent the tooltips from appearing when opening items from menu. This only occurs when there is only one item category set up on system 2.
  • (Japanese only) When submitting to Atsumaru, it will fail if the name is in Japanese.
Bug Fixes: Game Player
  • Fixed a memory leak happening on Firefox (Windows ver.) when using an animation.
  • Fixed a display problem with variable width font in battle and menu gauge.
  • Fixed a smoothing issue in battle status where the edges would blur.
Graphics Update
  • Some blurry tiles in the following Tilesets have been updated:
    • Outside_A1
    • Outside_A4
    • Inside_A1
    • Dungeon_A1
  • (Japanese only) Fixed the help / sideview character pictures
How to update your project(s):
  • Create a backup of your project or only its data and js folders. Updating can sometimes cause your project to break so this is for the safety of your hard work!
  • Update your project by going to the Main Tool Bar -> Game -> Update Corescript option.

  • To get the graphical updates, create a new project and copy the following files from the newly created project to your project folder:
    • img/tilesets/Outside_A1.png
    • img/tilesets/Outside_A4.png
    • img/tilesets/Inside_A1.png
    • img/tilesets/Dungeon_A1.png

I don't see the 1.2.0 option? Typo?

I downloaded the file and it says that is version 1.1.1. This in both the installer and the aplication once installed.

UPDATE: Only the link in this thread is incorrect. I downloaded the file from the email sent on release and I got the correct installer. Probably you should check that the link here is correct.

It's a stock image from previous the point is it's a tutorial of where to find the function.

I downloaded the file and it says that is version 1.1.1. This in both the installer and the aplication once installed.

We double checked and it seems to be a cache problem mostly on user end?

Nice, performance is always good news.
But i want to ask, is there a hope this issue reported earlier will be fixed in future? Because right now effekseer is pretty useless in MZ for me and i think for many others.

Uhhh so what about MV? MV needs this exact same fix for Mac OS. Been waiting for months and months for a solution/bugfix, so I'm sorry this is really frustrating because I still can't support Mac like mv is advertised to do and I been waiting months with support telling me their on a fix. They had me waiting on a fix for MV and now they emailed me and said that my game should be fixed now but there is no bug fix/update for MV? Just wow. (For the record I pre-ordered MZ, I just can't pack up my MV project and switch you know.)

He just said it's not an MZ issue but an effekseer issue. It would be better to talk to the dev of Effekseer.

Only 3rd issue is not MZ fault, but other two is and its enough to not use it
All animation in MZ looks like a blurry mess but in effekseer all good, i dont think its something dev of effekseer can fix

MZ is using effekseer's api. The animation game player update was from the dev.

did you DL the update? DL it, install it, open the engine and you should be able to update the core scripts then. i just did it a minute ago and it worked fine.

My copy is on Steam, and I don't have that 1.2.0 as an option. Guess the Steam version will take a bit.

On a different note. Is there any progress in the issue with the crash when trying to open something from the editor, for example a file or a project? I really don't know if that is even in the backlog. I know it happened to several people and is both on steam and pc version as far as I can tell.

What do you require? What type of information do you need to see? A video? Logs? Though that last one might be problematic, Windows doesn't allow me to see the proper log, but it is logged. If I can help with anything let me know. It really is a very bothersome bug.
