Try dropbox, if there is no data that has to remain secure. Dropbox will give you limited free internet storage similiar to an USB Stick (you only have to pay if you pass that limit, but it's rather high in my opinion). Of course that means the data is stored somewhere on the internet, which might be a problem if that data is for business purposes...
That's a good idea. I'll have to try later today. And no, none of the stuff I need to back up is for business purposes. Just personal projects and creations. And some college stuff.

It amazes me why nobody ever uses system restore when trying to diagnose their PC problems. It's like everyone's forgotten about it. This is NOT System Recovery, it's different.

Try out system restore on your PC to a point before it started happening. This will keep your files, but any settings you've saved or programs you've installed will be reverted or uninstalled respectively.

The good news is your problem will most likely go away, and your files will not be affected.

My first rule of thumb is, if I'm going to do a major change on the computer, I make a system restore point. Usually the PC will also automatically make a restore point right before you install programs so it's very useful.

In this case, it was a translation error - in German Windows, it's named differently and that was the function I meant to hint at. Appearantly I've choosen the wrong translation.

However, that "system restore" in Windows 8 doesn't work exactly as advertised - I've used it only once in Win8, and it didn't restore everything it was supposed to restore while it removed parts that weren't intended to be removed. So I would err on the safe side as well and backup my data before trying that.

I've never done system restore before but if I created a new partition and moved my stuff there, does the restore wipe out all those changes?

I know system recovery only touches the C drive (or wherever the OS is installed) but not sure about restore.

It is a questionable form of back-up but I use it when I just need to clean out my registry and temp folders and other stuff with a recovery.

I don't have a restore point that is far enough back... This is getting ******ed and I've done everything but give up.

*EDIT*

WOO! I fixed the **** out of it! I refreshed the computer. For those of you who don't know what this does like I did, it restores your computer to factory settings getting rid of any installed programs in the process but keeps all of your personal files intact. On top of that it leaves a nice little list on your desktop with all of your uninstalled programs so you can reinstall them one by one. The only thing I lost that I wish I didn't was game saves. Thank you for all your help but the problem has been solved.

That's basically been what we've been telling you to do, but glad you figured it out yourself.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
