Hello all!

So I purchased a copy of 'RPG Maker VX Ace' a couple of months ago and have been working on a short game on and off for the past few months. Recently I've started to include some more complex events (such as dialogue trees, long term puzzles etc.) that rely on the use of variables and switches. However now every time I want to test the game I have to play through all the existing parts of the game to test the bit I want which can take a while.

I was just wondering (and I'm sure there must be!) if there was a way to see all the variables and switches the game uses and set their starting values?

Thanks in advance for any help! :)

I'm not exactly sure if this is what you are asking about Slomo, so if you already knew this just ignore it.  But you can hit f9 while play testing to view and configure all of your switches and variables.

Using this on my current project and I believe this is what you're looking for.  It's easy to use.

Yeah you can just hit F9 while testing and see all switches and variables in your game, and adjust them accordingly.

Personally, I use F9 in combination with a debug map that I start the player out on. I give them all the necessary items/gold/partymembers/levels and turn on the appropriate switches and adjust the variables, before I transport them to the map that needs to be tested. No need to play the entire game from start - that's kind of insane and very time consuming! Also, while play-testing, holding ctrl while walking means you can walk through walls; great for short cuts.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
