RPG Maker VX Lite question

What's the difference between the buy version and the free, Lite, version?

I was using the 30 day trial for the regular version and i tried buying it at the end but it wouldnt accept my credit card (i think because it would be an international payment or something and that's not allowed with my card) so I'm stuck with the Lite version until i can figure something out. What all's the difference between them?

the first thing i noticed is that I can't open the game I was working on in the other version, it saying Unexpected file format

You can do most of the same things with them (I think) but the light version limits how much you can do, like I don't think you can expand the number of items, weapons actors enemies maps and events per map beyond more than I want to say 10, and no scripts. So while you can still make a game with it it is very limited.

For the unexpected file format, just make a blank project using the other version and copy the game.rvproj file into the old project


Ex. If ur using Lite right now and want to open it in the full version


Make a new project using the full version


Go to it's folder


Copy game.rvproj


Go to the old project's folder


Paste game.rvproj


PS: Btw, your title says VX Lite instead of VXAce Lite, there's no VX Lite

Have you contacted support about your card issue?

I talked to someone at my bank and they said I'd have to call the customer support and have them enable international payment that way.

I want to buy the game, but with christmas time coming up and I won't be getting as many hours at work as i normally get i'm worried if I'd have enough money afterwards.

I already took care of it and bought the game.

Question, does buying the game give you any special features or is it just as it is? Cause 70 bucks for the same thing I used for the 30 day trial sounds like a ripoff

lol! A trial, of anything, is to SHOW you what you are getting for your money, should you buy the product. If you don't think it's worth it, you should have realized that before you bought it. A trial is usually limited in functionality, or limited in time.


There are two "trial" versions of Ace.


One is limited in time, but has the full functionality of the engine.


The other is limited in features (Lite), but allows you to use it for free for as long as you want.


If you have been using Lite up until now, here are the differences:


- you can use scripts


- you are not limited in how many maps, events, items in the database tabs you can use


- more resources


- you can make money from your games - by selling them, by having a donate button, via crowdfunding


- probably other things I can't think of

I've been using the 30 day trial for the regular version.

And I didn't buy the game to make money or anything, just to have fun. I wouldn't have the confidence to ask for money, although I do like my game so far

It's just one of the differences, which is what you asked about


I didn't assume you were using Lite (although I could have, since it's in your thread title). I just said there are NO differences between Ace and the 30-day trial, and listed the differences that I could think of between Ace and Ace Lite.
