Yo, guys!

I've seen those ranks below the users' avatars (Member, Veteran, Developer and Early Ace), and I'm here wondering "how does it works?", so I made this topic so you guys can help me out with this one.

Member is self-explanatory.  Veteran is given once you reach 30 posts - it's used to show additional content not available to new members.  Early Adopter is a special title for people who pre-ordered RPG Maker VX Ace, I believe (same philosophy for Member+, etc. - you have to buy or subscribe to something).  I think "Developer" means that the member is on the RPG Maker dev team - i.e. the people actually creating the game.  Moderator for forum moderators who have some extra powers to keep discussion on point, Administrator for website admins, etc.

Most of the special ranks are or were the result of special actions and can no longer be gained, or the job description.

Early Ace was the Ace preorder four years or so ago

Developer is what that person does: working for Degica as a programmer

Member+ was a (now discontinued) special program for paid advantages

Member and Veteran are the only commonly available

But I've seen people with the Developer Rank with a star on it and people with the Developer Rank without a star on it.

What's the difference between then?

@gmestanley Our forum rules state " Do NOT insult, flame and or harass other users on the board, or anyone else outside of that." Please be more mindful of it in the future.

Don't worry Wavelength, I think that Andar and Victor Sant are a bit arrogant (Andar not much, but his way of writing makes me think he is arrogant :p)

Probably don't say you think someone is arrogant when that person is likely to read your post. You're definitely allowed to have an opinion, but it's not a good idea to say something that may make you disliked.

Sorry you two, I wanted to see the rules but I couldn't find it anywhere...

And I didn't want to say that Andar is arrogant, I think my brains messed up the information. I wanted to say something different but I couldn't find the word to express it.

Again, I'm sorry, like VERY SORRY. I didn't want to insult him. don't ban me plz

I'll edit that right now.

My apologies for stirring this up; I was being facetious and I think @gmestanley was kindly trying to soften the hurt feelings that he thought I had, probably not realizing (because of the language barrier) that I was just making a pun. :)

Dude! Have you seen the price of Serum Visions? Commons aren't to be scoffed at...

I am not sure about the developer rank without a star... I thought they were all rock stars! Boom nailed it!

And again, English is not my native language.

Now, could you guys solve my question? What's the difference between a Developer rank with and without a star?

ALSO DON'T BAN ME PLZ

It's okay - not a bannable offense unless you are just repeatedly harassing or insulting others. I'm sorry if it was a language barrier - just wanted to give you a heads up. And the forum rules can be found in one of the tabs at the top. Also, I don't know the answer to your question. Perhaps @Archeia does.

Talk less, smile more. Don't let them know what you're against or what you're fighting for.

(Sorry, saw this post and couldn't help quoting some Hamilton :D)

I assume you mean the dots under the usernames? No, those are part of your rank.

1 dot = Newbie

2 dots = Member

3 dots = Veteran

I don't think I've ever seen someone with 4 dots.

If you are going to say something about someone, it has to be said to the person. It is not ok for people to talk about others in their back!!! Disliked or not, when it can´t be avoided, it has to be done in an honorable way! :distrust:  PM is what I advise in these cases...

Also, it was not the case since this was just a lack of vocabulary mistake, and what was said was not intended to mean the way we read it! :)

Ok, back to the topic, I´m gona guess a little here, but I think that if one has a star and the other doesn´t have it, then the one who has the star is higher ranked and\or has seniority! In the end it is just a title thing that may distinguish one from the other, and may grant more forum power...or respect, or even nothing whatsoever!  >_>  But at least it´s visually pretty...

The only one that I see that has the star next to developer is Archeia, which is probably because she is leading the developer team.

As for the dots, from what i can see from the posters in this topic alone, I would assume 1 dot < 10 posts, 2 dots is 10 - 29 posts and 3 once you've reached 30 posts, or veteran status.

Oh, I see. So the Developers (the ones with and without a star) ranks are for the Degica Developer Team...

I thought that the Developer rank without a star was for the ones who made a game and posted it here and the Developer rank with a star was for the ones who work at Degica...XD

Now I wonder if @Yanfly has made at least one game.

Wayyy way back when Yanfly's username was Wong, he had a project that he was working on but I think his main focus is now writing scripts.

I actually met him once in school but he had and still has no idea who I was.

He has celebrity status in the Java world lol
