Is there a way to run an Rpg Maker XP game from a disc WITHOUT downloading SPECIAL software on the computer this will get us DQ in our competition for TSA?
Thanks for the help. Are there instructions on how to place RTP on the DVD so the game will run stand alone?(If anything gets downloaded on the judges computer we will get DQed)Most probably you have some wrong assumption, because NONE of the maker requires ANY special software to run.
When creating a game archive for publication, you have the option to include or not to include the RTP, which contains ONLY the resources (pictures, sound, etc). For people who play a lot of RM-Games, there is the option to download and install those RTP-resources separatly, to make the game file about 200 MB smaller - and have all the different RM-Games run on the shared pictures of the separate RTP-Download.
However, for those who don't play many RM-Games, you simply include the RTP in the archive. This will make the game file much larger, but it'll run on any PC without the need to download the resources.
And in all cases, the RTP isn't software, it's nothing but an archive of pictures and sounds to be used.
Just check the field for "include RTP" when creating the archive, then the RTP will be inside the game fileThanks for the help. Are there instructions on how to place RTP on the DVD so the game will run stand alone?
