Ow, do you really need to shout? We can all read just fine without all the drama. No, there is no way get a hold of XP without downloading it. I have no idea what you mean by special software, XP isn't available on Steam and the program you'd be downloading would be exactly the same thing that would be burnt onto a CD even if it were available that way. You could download it and burn it onto a disk yourself if you really want a hard copy.

BTW, I have no idea what you mean by DQ and TSA. My best guesses are disqualified and Technology Student Association.

Most probably you have some wrong assumption, because NONE of the maker requires ANY special software to run.

When creating a game archive for publication, you have the option to include or not to include the RTP, which contains ONLY the resources (pictures, sound, etc). For people who play a lot of RM-Games, there is the option to download and install those RTP-resources separatly, to make the game file about 200 MB smaller - and have all the different RM-Games run on the shared pictures of the separate RTP-Download.

However, for those who don't play many RM-Games, you simply include the RTP in the archive. This will make the game file much larger, but it'll run on any PC without the need to download the resources.

And in all cases, the RTP isn't software, it's nothing but an archive of pictures and sounds to be used.

In case you are talking about running an rmxp game on a read-only media the answer is yes. Besure to include the RTP as Andar mentioned.

Note: You won't be able to put saves on a read-only media so you need to change where the save files are located (scripting) if you want the players to be able to save.

*hugs*

Thanks for the help.  Are there instructions on how to place RTP on the DVD so the game will run stand alone?(If anything gets downloaded on the judges computer we will get DQed)

You all will be going to Dairy Queen? Haha. Just messing around :p You can export your project and then burn it to a CD along with the RTP if needed. No downloading required. Just click on the games .EXE on the PC.

Just check the field for "include RTP" when creating the archive, then the RTP will be inside the game file

When you go to compress the game, you have the option there to include the RTP or not include it. You've just got to make sure you take the option to include it (which I think is the default anyway).
