I listened to the track that were featured via SoundCloud. I gotta say...they are not well mastered, too much reverb and no limiting or real punch from the instruments.
The funny thing is, I remastered a few tracks from XP about 8 or so months ago for an RPG I was working on using the Lite version of RPG Maker VX Ace and of course I got the XP MIDI's off the official RPG Maker site, so I redid them. I dunno, I think they cam out far better and not so much of a mess. I had listened to Town 6 off their SoundCloud and immediately I was stunned! Wanna know why? Here, maybe you can tell for yourselves:

Oh and this is going by the original instrumentation mappings in the MIDI's. I didn't change anything, I don't think. My secret? Use instruments that aren't using far-away mics (if using expensive software libraries), tone down the reverb or at least tweak it to sound better) and play around with the original instrumentation to get the original sound but with updated software players to render something truly great! I had planned on redoing every single MIDI from XP, but I would have never had time to devote to my project, which to make it really shine, I'd need the full version of RPG Maker VX Ace...which I currently can't afford. lol
Anyway, if you all want, that track is ready for Ace. Looped properly and so are these others from XP. Give them a try, including the people/person remaking the official OST tracks. Inspiration!
