rpgmaker 2003 mp3s can't import

in the past when I downloaded rpgmaker 2003 the mp3 imported as it should (go into the resources importer and pick music switch the format from midi to mp3 and select the file) now i can only pick from midi and wave files) i downloaded the disharmony patch which did nothing i loath midi files please help me

The only advantage of using the resource importer is the ability to pick your transparent color in graphic resources. Nothing stops you from dropping some .mp3 in the Music folder.

I tried copying the file name of the mp3 i wanted to import it crashed rpg maker (cannot find file name.mp3.midi) i also herd that copying the mp3 file directly to to the music file worked, and no it doesn't does not, does anybody have any more ideas?

wow this is so odd! It always works for me. Are you sure you're not using a patch?
It absolutely does work and it has always worked.

This is so strange. Is the file properly named? As in, is the file actually name.mp3, or is it name.mp3.mp3? (happens on systems with hidden extensions when people go and type extensions anyway)

I just want to say, I'm confused with how to help but this is most definitely not normal RPG Maker 2003 behavior.

By the way, Maniacs Patch by BingShan makes so that rm2k3 can load OGGs. They have loop points built in so it's vastly superior to mp3.

who even uses ogg? I have ALOT of game mp3 files on my computer but no OGGs does anybody have a build or patch of rpgmaker 2003 where the mp3 importer works? im the type that cant do anything else till one problem is fixed and its starting to get to me

I don't have problems importing mp3 files in my steam version.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the program

Quite a number of people, actually. Especially if they are concerned about the total file size of their game, as ogg files are much smaller than mp3 files.
