Rpgmaker 2003 RTP trouble

Got a new computer a while back and I've just started getting all my RPGMaker games working again but for some reason I keep getting various errors when attempting to install the RTP for 2003 and 2000. The games itself keep claiming the RTP is not installed or registered and one of the actual installing .exe said the same. Usually they just stop midway through installation.

Can anyone offer some help?

As this is more about getting the engine to work, I shall move this to Technical Support.

For future threads, please make the title more descriptive of the actual problem you have. This will help others to see more quickly if they can help or not, as well as helping anyone else in the future who might have a similar problem and wants to know what the solution is.

If a game was made with the pirated version of RM2K(3), then it needs to be converted with the legal version (which was released only in 2015) to use the legal RTP from this site. There are a few changes that were required with it updating to be able to run on modern Windows versions.

How do I go about fixing that?

you need to open the game in a legal version and saved it again with that maker - that should solve a lot of cases.
However, there are several games that used patched engines to get functions that didn't exist in the base engine - in such cases you'll have to search for an updated patch that complies to the legal version and it's special Patch EULA and use that.

Thanks for the help but I've decided to just leave it. I only have VX and there's no trial version of 2003 available so I'm just gonna delete the game and find something else to play.

Thanks.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
