Well, me and my friends were making a game, so far we really enjoyed it! And we took a break and today we wanted to work on it and it says our trial expired!! what does that mean!? PLEASE. tell me our game wasen't deleted and hopefully we don't have to buy a full version  .

It means that since you did not yet buy RPGMaker, that when you downloaded it, it was only a trial version. It gives you 30 days to "try" out the system. When the thirty days is up, you must buy the system to continue on any project you may have been working on.

It means what you think it means. Your trial has ended. Its time to buy it. Your game is not deleted, but you can't open the program unless you buy it, or redo that whole trial thing. However you're better off downloading VX Lite and continue working on the game albeit extremely watered down but yet better than the japanese trial version of vx ace. So scrounge up and save some money and get the full version, or stick with VX Lite and use it for practice with your friends.

Decent would depend on who's standards you're referring to. To anyone non-RM familiar, maybe,

You should really buy the full version, access to the Script Editor is majorly important to an infinite amount of things you can do with the engine. (To make a good game that doesn't look like everyone elses, especially if you want a "decent" game in the standards of other RM users)

Those who request keys from mods are either

1) Bought it over steam/website/forum and didn't get their key due to technical issues

2) Lost their key or forgot what it was.

Don't use Lite if you've already started a game with the full (trial) version.  Lite is limited in number of maps, events, items in each database slot, scripts, etc.  If you've started a project in the trial or full version, then you continue to edit it in Lite, you risk messing it up.

Better to buy the full version, which, as has already been said, is less than $20 on Steam today and tomorrow.  (Well, "until the 26th" - I don't know if that means INCLUDING the 26th or not).

No, your game didn't get deleted - but you can only open it and continue working after you buy the full version like the others said.
If you don't have the money now you can wait for a later sale, your project will wait for you on the hard drive - there is no automatic deletion.


The steam sale currently lists "34 hours left to buy", so it includes the 26th depending on your local timezone.

We haven't. What you saw was a thread meant for users who bought RPG Maker VX Ace from our store, and got a product key to make the game work on Steam as well. Nothing 'free' was given out.


Either way, your trial expired. Either buy the program (which is on a huge sale on Steam right now), or stick with RPG Maker VX Ace Lite (which has limitations, but at least it's free). Your project is safe, it didn't get deleted, and nothing has changed, only you can't access it right now.
