Hey everyone,

I've recently bought RPG Maker VX Ace on Steam and i'd like to know if there's a way I can also get it for my other computer (without Steam and without installing Steam).

I've already mailed the Sales department but still no reply.

Thanks in advance!

You can only use RPG Maker VXAce Steam if you have the Steam Client installed on the computer.

I think there's a way by using the Contact Us page. Give them a proof you bought the game and you might get a copy to install on that laptop.

Not sure about this but I think it is possible

You can't install Steam onto the laptop... But you can install RPG Maker on the laptop? That makes little sense.

If you're going to school to study game art, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to install Steam on the laptop and then RPG Maker.

What are the limitations given to you that you can install RPG Maker on the laptop, but not the Steam client?

If it's a restriction placed on your school, then it makes very little sense. I'd ask if you can be "allowed" to install Steam thus, to be able to install RPG Maker. If the laptop prohibits you from installing any programs, I'm wondering why it would prohibit (or rather, explicitly allow) you from installing RPG Maker.

If it's a school computer loaned out, the school has every right to block unauthorized downloads. The user would either need Admin rights, or get an Admin to allow it.

However, I don't believe that's the case. I think the user here has two computers, one of which has Steam and the Steam version of Ace, and the other which is used for school and does not. He/she wants to transfer the Steam version of Ace from one computer to the other, without adding Steam to the other. They'll need a non-Steam version of Ace to do so.

My apologies for being unclear on my behalf.

I have Steam installed on my desktop, and I don't have it on my laptop. My laptop I use for my study, and since Steam doesn't work on the school IP and since it's very distracting I decided not to download Steam on my laptop.

But i've bought RPG Maker VX Ace on Steam because of the 75% off action.

But besides all that, it's fixed and I got a non-Steam key.

Thank you all for your replies :)

Just an additional info:

The Steam-Version can run offline, you just have to switch Steam to offline-mode if the network doesn't allow internet access.

I had Steam installed on my laptop as well, and when I was outside my home network trying to start RM, the only drawback was a delay of about half a minute until steam asked if I wanted to continue in offline mode...

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving!
