Hey everyone my name is C and I have recently got in to using RPG maker MV, I haven't touched RPG maker since I used to play around with RPG maker 2000 back in the day but I thought I'd pop back to things and noticed the "release something" event going on, which got me thinking "Could I make something in a month"
Well the short of it is probably not but it'll be a fun challenge to teach myself how to use the engine, and release something.
So here is the project: Luition Academy!
The game idea is fairly simple:
you take control of Mira, the leader of a small team of students sent out to hunt monsters in the abandoned world of Corsha. Corsha has been swarmed with monsters for 1000s of years and so to fight this humanity set up "academies" their jobs are to train students who are equipped and ready to battle the monsters of the world, outside and inside the last castle city in the world "Luition"
Every student is ranked, from 1000 to 1, the top students are famous and the lowest students are basically pest control.
Mira wants to rise from rank 976 (his current rank) to rank 1, can he do it?
Game features:
Open world - accept any mission at any time regardless of rank
Ranking - A unique feature to Luition Academy, the more monsters you hunt the higher you rank, the more the town will recognize you and the more unique missions you will unlock.
Friends - Your team is dynamic and ever-changing, as are your relationships with the students of the Academy, I plan to tell the story like a visual novel, so expect a lot of choices and a lot of DRAMA!
Unique art - from the monsters to the students I don't want to use any of the stuff provided in the RPG maker base set, the idea is to swap out all of the art with my own.
I may add more features but this is MORE than enough, I'm not saying I'll get it done, but this is the GOAL.
Current state:
Raw basics - the combat works, the base 4 characters have moves and skills.
One monster to hunt - Just the tutorial boss battle to go through
Half a dungeon - Its not even finished yet.
UI overhaul - I'm using a plugin by Moghunter to remake the UI of the game I'll be adding my own art to this too, I understand the code he's used so it's just a case of setting an artist to it!
Some monsters - All of the monsters in the game have unique art, nothing from the main engine.
Prototype art - The heroes aren't final, the art you see here isn't their final designs.

Creating the start of Luition
Implementing the friendship system
