Is there anyway to access and delete unnecessary RTP files?

I started a project and had imported a ton of graphics for battlers. I didn't know which ones I would need at the time and I wanted a large selection to choose from.

Now I have about 58MB of Battler Graphics that don't even appear in the game. And I can't seem to delete them as they are now considered RTP files for some reason.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The RTP is just the default files that come with the engine. To delete files go to resource manager and delete them. Note though you can only delete those with a red dot, the blue dot ones are the RTP and you cannot delete them out of the engine.

That usually means you made a mistake of importing them to the wrong position.
Usually you should make imports and exports using the resource manager, that will keep those files inside the project folders, and any change would override the RTP for the project only.

If they are in the resource manager marked as RTP (different color of the dot, and cannot be deleted) then that means you did not import them by resource manager but directly copied them into the RTP directories.
In that case you need to search for them with windows file search to find the RTP directories, then delete them there and reinstall the RTP by running the RTP installer (can be downloaded from links top right)

Yes. But all of the files I had imported are now showing up as blue icons in the Resource Manager. I'm not sure why
but now they are considered RTP files. Even if I start a completely new project the graphics from my other project are still there.

EDIT @Andar I'm pretty sure that's what my mistake was actually. I will try your solution.

Check Andar's post then, as if you posted your new files in the RTP directly they will be considered RTP. Andar posted more on how to fix that.

Go to your Project folder and rightclick grey marked "Game" to open it with Windows Editor.
Iam not sure if you had to delete the whole blue Text Line or just the text after the "=" sign. I bassume it was the whole Line. Than iam also not sure if while deployment you have to mark with rtp or not. but this should be tested out very quickly by yourself, its so long since i did this.

Than make sure you nowhere in your Project you have choosen any of the RTP stuff.
Else you get one Error Message after the other, manualy importing the same Resources will not fix this, because the path is extra to rtp+filename.
But dont worry about that, after you made your total empty project, just manualy import the whole rtp or just the resources you need.
Than you are free to delete or add whichever resources you like.

Or

You deploy your Game without the RTP, than its realy smal and just contains the extra added resources. Your Players will have to download the RTP to their Computers 1 Time. This is awesome if you release many updates, for Testrooms or smal projects which use RTP.

Edit:
Also dont put Graphics in the main rtp folder, because if you than deploy your game without rtp, those graphics are missing even if player got rtp installed.
So best to import by import manager in the editor or by pasting them into the correct resource folders of your Project . Than in both cases like the others said the point infront of the Resource should have another color.

Hope this isnt too much Klingon...

@Bex you should have read the answers, the OP's question has nothing to do with removing the original RTP but with removing files he accidentally added into the RTP.

Ah i thought he wanted to delete unused RTP Files also.
Okay my fault, thanks for pointing it out.
I directly jumped to the conclusion that he wants to make standalone game with rtp included in deployment, but freed by unused Resources.

Thank you everyone for your assistance. After a somewhat tedious process I have managed to delete the unnecessary files.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
