Hello, Everyone! Jac here! Sorry if this is a stupid question! I tried looking into this but it kept giving me other things such as "How to transfer files from VX Ace to MV" or whatever. And there's a slight possibility that I might have gotten the answer I was looking for but I'm not entirely sure!
My real question is... Can I use MV materials for VX Ace? Really, the only thing I want is the Face Set Generator. (This is something I'm just trying to be a little bit lazy on before getting to drawing my own Face Set)

Yes, I'm trying to make a free game. No money making here. Lol.

And sorry if I'm in the wrong Forum Area again since I really don't know where to put this one.

As long as you own both, yes.

Well, darn. I do not own both. Thank you for telling me! It did keep telling me that "Any software that isn't RPG Maker Materials isn't allowed" and etc. But I couldn't find any mention of owning both materials! So again, thank you for telling me!

It doesn't matter if your game is free or commercial, the legal restrictions will always be the same.
You always have to have the licence to use any material included or your game would be illegal.

In the case of the RPG-Makers, you get that licence by purchasing the main editor, which is why you need to own both makers to mix and match the resources.

I suggest you keep watching
IsThereAnyDeal.com
until you get them cheap enough at a sale

I get you! I'm good at drawing my own stuff so I can stick with just that for now! But I have been thinking about getting MV for future references! So thank you for showing me the link!

Actually, while we're talking about this, is there any software related to RPG Maker that allows for better resolution in Materials? Or do you get that in MV? I notice the pixels is a bit bigger in the Face Set in MV than it is in VX Ace. (I downloaded the demo version of MV, that's how I knew lol)

no, the pixels are not bigger - the faces are bigger because MV uses 150% the size of Ace, and you'll have to use an image program to scale the generator pictures down to Ace-size before they can be used.

And nothing can change the resolution of Ace because that part of the engine is hidden and closed source.
In MV you could theoretically change resolution or screen size or both, but that would require you to either lose quality on the resource or redo every single tile and sprite. So it is not something easily done either.

That is actually good information to know! Thank you! I had no idea that part of the engine is hidden and closed! So I can stop looking further into that as well! Actually, I have been using GIMP to scale the images for "best as possible but still not enough" resolution! Sometimes pixels can be your worst enemy! Lol

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
