Runtime error while trying to change fonts

Hey. I've been trying to change the default font for my current project in VX Ace but everytime I try playtesting it it just gives me the same error over and over.

I've double checked that the line of code is right and that I'm using the proper font name. And yes, it is allocated in the project's Font folder and yes removing that snippet of code also makes the game run without a problem (aside from not changing the font, obviously).
Attempting to use another font (such as Arial or MS Mincho) seems to work so I don't really understand what's going on. I don't think the file is corrupted or anything, it seems to be fine...

So if anyone could shed some light into this I'd be really grateful, because I'm stumped.

Did you try any of the solutions Google gives you? I saw some online converters but I'm not in the position to test it myself.
Speaking of Google, that's how I was able to find that RMRK thread. Didn't know about .FON files either.

I tried out a fair amount of them and they don't see to work at all. I saw something on StackOverflow about using fontforge and autotrace but that sounds like a nightmare too ngh.

I looked a bit deeper and found the following thread, and also this one by the same user, problem is... his solution was a custom font someone made but the link for download seems to be dead. It's been a while since those two threads were made, and that makes me cling to bit of hope that there must be some other way? I tried asking some other friends and search a bit more myself but I didn't found anything.

It's really embarrassing to admit but I've ran into that link you sent me earlier before making the thread and the point that I could've been using an unsupported file type flew straight over my head. I was pretty upset and never worked with fonts before so I didn't think about that, oops.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
