Hello, everyone. This is my first project that I want to train myself to create RPG game.This is for my training and for my hobby. 


 


S&M Versus MV World (Prologue)


 


Synopsis


 


Suzuki and Megumi are non blood-related siblings live together in one roof, facing the world of MV (I made VX Ace version but not finish) with adventures, actions, fun and.....chaos. The world of fantasy (MV world) they'll face not just monster but also other races like elfs, orcs, etc.


 


Start with prologue, Suzuki (red-armor swordsman) looking for his little sister Megumi (blue-armor spear-wielder) in the woods where it was a place for training installed with 'training-dummies'. It's a dangerous place where the dummies are moving when they see humans as they want to fight.


 


Characters


Suzuki.png

 


Suzuki - a swordsman/hero who wield a sword. He's hothead, grumpy but patient. Other than fighting, he can cook.


 


Megumi.png

 


Megumi - a spear-wielder and Suzuki's non blood-related little sister. Like to mess around with Suzuki and a trouble-maker. She has two personality: nice and crazy.


 


Setting and World Development


 


The MV world, kinda like fantasy-medieval world but I'll mess up.


 


Genre


Action and adventure RPG game (with SV battle system) filled with comedy, love and insanity or something.


 


Status : Not complete yet


 


Reason : As I said, it's my training and I wanna know what's my mistake, how to manage event game, create OC characters and ....... I better make simple first.

Update 10/7/2016: The game is finished and deployed but not post in this forum yet. Except I recorded a video gameplay. I need a recommended cloud storage.

I did it. I made the game thanks for Kadokawa Game, Rexal, Moghunter and Skunk. This is just for my homework, my exercise, my training and my test. I have to manage database, plugins, resources, artwork, etc. The hardest thing I want to manage are events. Totally made me headache. But, the prologue is done.


18/7/2016 : Harold is in. Suzuki's bust sprite edited. Need to fix Megumi's bust sprite and create Theresa's bust sprite.

*FF& Deathblow was a technique skill by Cloud. Because of Yanfly action sequence, it animated thank for @Yanfly and @SOC

Updated 23/8/2016 : Manage to create Rescue Battle where player have to face enemy(ies) with hostage(s). Easy or hard : Defeat enemy(s) but don't kill hostage(s).




This is the weirdest victory I'd ever made.

A little question..


Are you going to change Suzuki's battle sprite? (He looks like a midget compared to Megumi)

Which one? The SV sprite or bust battle sprite? If SV sprite, I stick to it. For bust battle sprite, yes, not just Suzuki  but also Megumi not just because he looks like midget. I need to fix the position of the sprites since I used Moghunter's plugin. Next, I gonna use yanfly engine plugin but i'm not sure whether compatible or not. Also, need to fix the characters and learn some new tricks.

Eeeehhh.... @Katsudoom , maybe I have to change Megumi's sprite because I draw Harold (MV basic actor) and he looks like Suzuki. I stick to midget or should I say "Head to hip".

Hi there, looking at your video's this is what I think; the idea of the story sounds good but I really do not like how it shows visually. Seeing this as an early project I would recommend to get more depth into your current game, more detail visually and have more content other then the story itself, find unique things that will divine your game and the story will slurp people in by its own. And I would not recommend showing to much raw content it will mostly just scare 'players' away. At this stage tough I would not be to busy with getting a lot of people to play your game this is not the early project feedback thread for nothing :p

Thanks, @Dutch Power Creations for the advise. Yeah, I didn't really mean to show this video but that okay(prologue only, not episode one yet). It's my first time to create this game and how I achieved to do it (event, switch, Yanfly Core Engine, art, headache). This is my study to create my game and yeah, like you said " find unique things that will divine your game and the story will slurp people in by its own". Scare 'player' is kinda troublesome coz I don't like nice trailer but bad game or movie. It's a taught.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
