In my project there are several classes: Assault, Sentinel, Support, Caster and Summon. However, different actors that have the same class can have different skillsets.

So for example Hero1 is an Assault class and has three skills: Sword, Bow, Dagger
And there's also Hero2 who is also an Assault class but has three other skills: Mace, Crossbow, Axe

My question is simple: Is it possible to make it so different actors have the same class but use different sets of skills?

Edit: Forgot to mention that it would be ideal to make this work without copy-pasting the class separately for each hero.

only by tricking the engine, usually the class is what defines the skill.
and it will have disadvantages like showing all skills even if they are not usable

have all skills learned by class, but don't put the skill type in the class - place it in the actor instead.
so the class will teach all skills, but only some will be available to each actor.

a better alternative might be to trick the player: make two different classes but name both "assault".
Unfortunately this has the disadvantage that you as the developer have to take much more care to not accidentally mix the classes up yourself.

I see...
I don't like the option of having every single skill visible but unusable for the actors.

Looks like I will have to commit copypaste
(I could always put the relative actor's name in the class' notebox, to know which class "clone" is for which actor)

Thanks for advice

It does sometimes get a little embarrassing that I often come here to ask for help with something and seldom have anything to actually show for it. If there is one thing though I can commend myself for, it's for sticking with an idea I've been tinkering with for this long now and gradually making headways. Even though I've been reserved about my progress, I can say I'm farther now than where I initially started.
I'm gonna put my project on pause for a tiny bit so I can explore the engine outside of it... Winging it can only get you so far LMFAO
Have seen some of my favorite people here posting and helping others with questions today -- love to see it!
Haven't been on here actively in awhile, project is going strong my biggest issue is the STORY, i'm refining the plot and learning so much i decided to take a writers class to improve even more but the programming and functionality of the game is stepping up nicely!
