Satoru Iwata has passed away on July 11th 2015, when he was only 55 years old.

He was a legend in the industry, not just as the president of Nintendo but as one of the most talented programmers of his time (being able to compress Pokemon G+S to fit Kanto, among other amazing features) but most of all, he was a gamer. He knew how important games were as a medium and he dedicated his life to making them. From Pokemon to Earthbound, he helped make these games the childhood favorites they were.

He was the antithesis if every CEO; one who didn't get mind getting his hands dirty. He would gladly act like an idiot with Miyamoto and Reggie to bring smiles to everyone. He opposed many business decisions proposed by shareholders to keep Nintendo what it really was. Who knows where the company will go after this?

That doesn't matter now though. What matters is that we all remember Iwata and his legacy. The smiles that he has brought to us and the person he was, the company he helped grow and the games he helped make.

Thank you Iwata-san!

No way :S I'm a long time Nintendo player, and this is kind of shocking to hear.

Here is another video with him in a role of a muppet:

I just love how playful and goofy a CEO could still be. Here are two famous quotes from him:

"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer."

"Video games are meant to be just one thing. Fun. Fun for everyone!"

I'm very sad to see him go so soon.

Rest in Peace, Iwata-san... :(

It is a pity that such wonderful people leave this life.

He was taken from us way too soon. Hope you're gaming up a storm in the afterlife, Iwata-san.

Farewell, Iwata-san. I just fired up some of your earliest games again as my little way of paying your outstanding legacy tribute.

Oh man. IGMC's finally back. I really want to participate, but I'm not sure if I have the time.
It is DC's turn to be celebrating her leveling up and starts her 20th year. We were many to think she wouldn't live that long. Starts your cats motors and make 'em purr!

I made myself a cult leader, and a concept scene for him as well. :LZSexcite:
