Save As? How can I save a project with a different name for two working files?

Hi there, I purchased the RPG Maker yesterday and had a great deal of fun messing with my first project last night. This morning I showed my game to my son and he wanted to add kitties and things like this. So long story short, I wanted to try to save my game as a new name, so that I could begin a game with him still utilizing all of the work I had done on my game with the database, but now just a test file to mess with, a test file with a different name that will not interfere with my actual game?

This way, when I want to go back to my old save file and work on my actual game (without the kitties) I can just load my old file. Currently not seeing an option for this. Seems I can only "save" which will make any changes to kitty land affect my actual game.

So how can I save this version I am working on with the kitties as something like "Kitty Adventure" and break it off from my actual working file that I intend building my game (without kitties in the starting room).

Thanks!

Do you mean something like copying your project folder?  I've done that a couple of times.  Just copy the entire project folder, paste it onto your desktop or wherever, rename it to "Kitty Adventure," then drag it back into the RPG Maker folder as a second project.

Yep, I mean like how if I was working on a file in photoshop I could just "save as" and then rename the project, yet still be able to open my last save file that had a different name to go back to an earlier time frame (prior to the kitties).

Sort of confusing haha! I am going to try your suggestion now though, I did not think of simply copying the folder! Thank you!

That's pretty much the only way, and the best way, copy/pasting the whole project to duplicate it. It's also a good action to take if you're trying to do major script replacements, like trying a completely different battle system script.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...
