Save Data won't load (line 366 NoMethodError)

Hey guys! I'm new here and I apologize if this is not the right forum. Anyway, I'm new to RMVXAce, and I'm having some problems. Every time I test my game and continue a save file, it gives me this message. It told me to check Game_Map, line 366. Line 366 includes "@common_events.each {|event| event.refresh }". What should I change here so that I can open save files for my game?

Tech-Support is for getting the editors to run, not for game development help.


Non-Script help goes into the maker-specific forum, but since the only way you could get to such an error is if you either added a script or modified the engine scripts, I moved it to script support.

Noobstar, I do but they're not really big. They do not include Battle Systems or anything. Do you want me to list them?

@iTacoTuesday: It doesn't matter how large they are - one of them broke your engine, most probably because you made a mistake when installing or configuring it.


I suggest you follow the link on "how to use a script" in my signature, it also includes sections on bughunting if a script causes problems.

@Andar I'll check it out later. But just to make sure if their are easier ways to fix it, I'll list my custom scripts:


1. I changed the original Scene_Title to another one that can make a picture move.


2. A BGM Material script that can play a custom song in the title screen.


3. A Menu Material script that can move the window command.


4. A Font Material script that can change the font of the game.


What do you think is causing the error? What should I delete? Thank you in advance!

you misunderstood what I mean.


Scripts, when used correctly, do not cause those errors.


You either missed a line when copying the scripts into the engine (a single missing end at the wrong place will break the engine), or you made a mistake when configuring the scripts (some scripts need you to change their lines, and if you make the wrong changes they no longer work) or some other problem you caused when installing the scripts.


That is completely independent of what you did - but for example, I don't know of any script that requires you to replace one of the original scripts with it, they usually need to be added and override the originals.


But to solve the problem, you need to install the backtracer like I described in the bughinting segments of the tutorial and give us that error message output.

@Andar Found the solution. I just had to delete the custom Scene_Title. Thanks for the help though! ?

You should always make a backup before you add any scripts to your project as sometimes they can seriously mess up your game if you have scripts that are not compatible. I almost lost a game once from that.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
