im following this tutorial on parallax mapping, and they note an easier way to edit maps is to save it as an image

when i opened up my art software and set the grid to 48x48, i found the grid was MUCH smaller than it shouldve been.... but i carried on anyways because i thought it might be a problem with the grid itself

after putting the map into MV, THIS happened

    upload_2019-10-12_23-49-45.png

which makes sense since... the grid appears 4x smaller than it should be.....

i have no idea what im doing wrong :kaoswt2:

It is intentional that the Save Map as Image only saves it at half the size.

I'm guessing the tutorial is getting you to use it just as a guide, and the image will not become a part of the final parallax. In that case you can just open it and resize to 200%, then start your parallaxing.

What is the screen resolution for your game? It should work by matching the screen resolution, or by making the room smaller.

It's a nice way of using Hudell's plugins. But I would recommend matching, or sizing the parallax to the screen resolution.

I appreciate all the suggestions but I think I'll use the method imaginaryvillian gave me for now! I don't really wanna fight with my maps again for something I already have a decent solution to, but thanks!
