Say that I want to upload my game to Itch for instance. How do I do it?

I've already made a deployed version and all that, but... what do I do with it? It's just one folder, and I can't upload the whole folder. I tried to send just the game file to someone, but that didn't work.

Sending just the game file is gonna do nothing.
I've uploaded a few games to itch with no issues.

Zip it up? I tried that, but the one person who's downloaded it couldn't find the game file...? Edit: I believe it works now. Somehow.
