Hey fellas, I've been working on a game for me and a group of mutuals on discord, the game is centered about me and those guys and i had a lot of fun working on it, but as i was working on it i realized that what i been doing could get me in trouble, you see the pictures i used for characters where the avatars those guys use on discord like Ichigo, naruto, etc and using pictures and animations i found on google images. And took music from shows and games i liked. As soon as i realized what i was about to do i said an excuse to them like "i deleted it by accident" or something like that. It's been months sice i dropped that proyect, and started working on a new one that has nothing to do with those guys where i only used music from the game and dlc and used the charater generetor to make my characters.
-Do you think it would be wise to rekindle that old proyect ? i was thinking of putting a disclamer like "This game was made for an specific group of fellas it wasn't made with the intention of earning any kind of profit now or in the future" or should i let sleeping dogs lie ?
-How can i check if something is copyrighted or taken ?
-Do you know where a newcomer like me could find free resources that the author wouldn't mind me using them ?

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
