Hello!
Just want to notice you that I add a quick copy&paste for adding "Filter Effect" settings to VisuMZ_1_OptionCore option menu.
If you need that, you can check the Q&A in the main post.
Thanks again for bug-reporting!

Hello!
I just updated this plugin to ver 1.1 right now.
Two improvements and some bug-fixes added. Please download again and enjoy!
(You can check the new functions in update-log island in game)

◆ 2 new Filter-Target!
add "ExcludeSpecificChar" and "ExcludeSpecificPicture".
Apply effect to targets other than specific-id(s).
This is good when you want to make some event (or player) special!

(e.g. dot filter applied on "ExcludeSpecificChar" with target-id = -1)

Variables and Random assignment on target-id! (and other)
I raised a vote, and surprisingly found that many people like this idea, so I just add it.
Now you can assign Variables and Random on target-id, duration, and filter-speed!
just use the v# and r#~# notation in target-id(s)!

This filter is really awesome and also exactly what I needed for one of my projects.
Though currently I have a problem with getting it to do anything. Is there some sort of manual or something on how to properly set everything up?

Here I've been trying to make that twisting effect appear on a character, but it seems that I've done something wrong.

Hello!
Just get a quick peak, the problem seems like that the parameters isn't set.
twist filter has a default radius of 0, so if you don't set the radius, it will appear nothing (though it is indeed running).
If that isn't your issue, please feel free to ask more questions!

P.S.
The demo project is also a tutorial, if it doesn't bother you, please take a look! (just run the game)

@Trishy
That's a hard problem...! ><
the default auto(black) color seems too black for me in light theme, so I adjusted the font color to a grayish color, but I didn't consider the dark theme.
I'll consider turn it back to auto, thanks for your mentioning!

Just tried this plugin out yesterday and I'm definitely in love. It works flawlessly so far and it's all straight-forward and easy to understand (super important for a noob like me). I also love how you prepared a video showing exactly what each filter does. Thank you so much for your awesome work here!

I know I'm late, but I'm really glad you made an MZ version of the plugin.

I had a 1930s setting noir game in mind, and found that a really subtle old film filter along with faded colors really helps set the tone. I also like playing around with the CRT filter settings in hopes of finding something easy on the eyes.

Another use I loved back in MV, when using Mode 7, is using the Zoomblur effect on the very top part of the screen to create a fake Depth of Field effect.

The versatility of these filters are great.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
