Whenever I try to test my game I get the error "@cache[path] = Bitmap.new(path) unless include?(path)" after it loads up the splash screen. The only custom scripts I'm using are Yanflys Slippery Tiles one and Shaz's splash screen script.

Any help would be appreciated

My first guess is that at one time you had added and used a picture to the game, and later that picture either got deleted or damaged, so that the engine can't open it any longer...

Check all your resources, if that doesn't help then post a picture of the error message instead of simply writing the line down - that way we may be able to identify the cause better

The title screen had been changed - though I saved it under a different name so I'm not sure why that would cause it to crash - I've attached a screenshot of the error message.

Then probably at one place you're still using the old name for the title screen - try saving the screen again under the old name, if the error goes away you 'll know that that is the picture that's causing the error - if not you'll have to keep looking what else had been changed.

Tried saving the new title screen under the name of the old one - Didn't work.

The title screen was the only thing changed before it stopped working.

Then either there has been a change you've forgotten, or one of the files was damaged by windows without your knowledge.

You have to check all pictures to see which one the game cannot create

Alternatively, someone wrote a short script to chack all picture resources for problems, but I don't remember in which topic that was - if someone else points you to that script, you can have it run to learn the name of the picture that creates the error message...

It only stops working at the title screen - so I'd assume it would either be the font, windowskin or the title screen image that would be causing problems - is that accurate?

No, several resources are checked early even if they're not used yet. So it could be something else...

Hmm - I just tried deleting all custom images used and reuploading them after downloading them all again - still wasn't working.

Okay - I managed to fix my problem. For some reason there was a second file in the Splash folder with the .pxr extension - when removed it worked perfectly. I feel a bit silly for that now.

Thanks for explaining what the issue was. I should probably modify that script then, so it only looks for valid image files.

If this problem ever happens again, put this line before 106 that's causing the error:

p pathand run the game with the console enabled. When it crashes, the console will tell you exactly which resource it was unable to load.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
