Ok so this definitely needs explanation. I'm looking for a script (if that's what I'd use, sorry) that'll allow me to add or remove files from the game folders.
My plan for the game is to have the main character 'mess with the files' throughout the gameplay. This is because the story behind my character is that they can interact with the player's world and she knows she is in a game. So an example of what I'd like to do is: At the start of the game there is a narrator that insults my character as they narrate so, being annoyed with the narrator, my character removes the narrator from the game. I have a pop up message to say this but is there anyway I could actually add a file called 'narrator' to the game folders and have it delete itself.
Another example would be if the player makes a decision which results in the death of the main character a notepad file would appear in the games folders to say something like 'why did you kill me?'
I would just add the files to the folder and keep them there but I think It'd give a lot of depth to the game if I could add and remove multiple files.

If this doesn't make sense at all I can try harder to make it more clear for you below.
Thank you.

Search for a script called "SES External Text". That script does not do what you want directly, but it does contain code to load and write new files inside the project directory (it needs that to get itself into an encrypted archive if the developer sets that option)

That might help you find the codes you need.

An other script that might be helpfull to analyse is Shaz' Ace to MV converter script. It runs in Ace and writes new files with converted data for MV. Again you don't need the conversion, but it would help you learn the file commands.

Ok, thank you.

I’ll check it out.

Question, if you have the game delete files what happens when the player wants to play again like start over? Would they have to redownload the game? If you could find a way to say add new text files to the desktop saying things, otherwise they would likely get over looked, that would be sweet, but I am not sure how permissions and anti virus's and things like that would view the files being added that way.

A cool idea I had would be have the player enter their email and you could have the character email the person messages.

Sounds like a really cool project I hope you get it all figured out.

To answer the first bit, no they wouldn’t have to redownload the game. The files that are deleted would all be .png files that are unused throughout the game. This means they can be deleted without affecting anything in the game properly. It’s just to add to the background of the game because I want it to have a lot of hidden secrets that only those who are really interested in the game will discover.

I considered anti-viruses but there are various games that do things similar. I’ve seen games that add clues for puzzles in the documents folder so the player had to search for it or games that did exactly as I’m wanting to do with the adding and deleting files (although, they permanently remove the files so you have to reinstall them). So an anti-virus shouldn’t be a problem.

Emailing would be a pretty cool idea but 1) I don’t know much about codes or scripts at all so I wouldn’t know how to do it and 2) There’s a chance the emails will be marked as spam and then the emails will get overlooked completely by everyone.
Number 1 is definitely a problem for me because of my lack of skills but Number 2 I could drop hints throughout the game for the player to check their email or something.

Thank you for your response.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
