Ok, so here's my plan. I was just thinking to make a horror game RIGHT after i release Erudacia.. So i need scripts that when used, you can use script calls to enter a first person mode or specified "Search Mode" well "Search Mode" is a system in Corpse-Party series.. I don't think i would be able to do this without scripts.. So can i request? Here is what i mean.. : 2015-02-11-15-46-02-1139396862.jpeg

If that picture is a still picture then it's better to do this by eventing.

Load the picture as background parallax, make events below player wherever the player can find something.

Upon entering "search mode", switch off followers and change the actor graphic into a cursor for searching, and remember to change everything back on the exit event.

If you want the player walking in 1P view, then yes that does require scripts - and those scripts are that much work that you have to either use the existing 1P dungeon exlorer script (sorry, don't have the link) or pay a commission of probably beyond 100$ for such a script. I really doubt that a scripter would make a 1P walking script without being paid for that lot of work.

@Andar, thank you for your answer but.. Where do i find the cursor or anything i need to make it work, i can't make it yself because i'm not an artist myself.. But in Corpse Party there are controls to let you move to different areas. I will give you screenshots once i found it.

@XDCorez: It doesn't matter where you found it or what it is.

What matters is that you tell us what you want for your project - do you want that search mode to be a still picture where the player clicks on places to see what's hidden there? Do you want that search mode to be walking through the map? Or what else do you want the player to do when he's in search mode?

Without knowing that we can only guess at possible solutions like I did above.

@Andar: So the search mode is where you find things in the room or acessible areas.. While i'm making the game so the players must evade any evil ghosts that try to kill the player.. Once the ghost spots the player, he/she must hide or it would result a game over.. So the player will have to hide under stuff that hides him/her (ex: hiding under the table)

Edit: Once the players found the key item (ex: Nakashima found the Science Key, now exiting search mode) how do i do that?

Sorry i keep editing it might have been annoying but, that's not a still picture.. Players have to move he joystick left/right to move the view.

Sorry, but to have even a chance to get a script made, you have to give a detailed description of what the script should do - and NOT by comparing it to a game that the scripter most probably never before has heard of (much less played) himself.

That includes things like how should the player get to the screen, how should he leave it, what happens when he presses the enter button and so on. Also how, when and why should which form of ghost appear and what should be the results of that and so on.

Another example:

now exiting search mode) how do i do that?
You have to decide how the search mode should be exited by the player and tell the scripter how you want it - then the scripter can write the script and tell you what data to place where to make the exit you described to him/her.

Let me try something....

Do you know what Parallax mapping is?

Imagine a background that has the picture you show us.

Imagine now a 100% passable map, with transparent tiles (nothing in it). Ok

The picture is shown and the player can walk on it!

I know it is lame, JUST WAIT!!!

You make events below character, and trigger them on click.

You can have a MOUSE script (there are some available) that can support icon tagging, thus the cursor can change.

The cursor can change to an exclamation mark on something interesting.

Now pressing the mouse button actuall makes hero run and thus there is a delay.

Make hero run FAST! (you can).

And now, the breaking point.

Add a transparent graphic for a here graphic. Thus it is never shown.

Functionality:

You use the mouse pointer, it turns to sxclamation mark, you click.

The INVISIBLE hero goes to the event clicked using a pathfinding script (exists)

and triggers the event.

Player's experience: I clicked a place on my perception. Something happened.

Cheers.

Well i know bit abiut parallax mapping.. But i'm still confused, the player has to examine something. How do i make the object selectable by the player. Edit: by what i'm asking is already in your post, lmfao

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
