I know how to scroll the map / camera using the "Scroll Map" function, but how would I make a scene where the camera scrolls to the Player Character rather than using them as the starting point? I suppose that's the crux of the question; How do I make a different event the "starting point" for a camera pan (rather than the player)?

What I hope to accomplish: This is an opening cutscene where the scene is black, but fades in as the camera pans slowly across the map until resting on the Player Character.

You could
1 - turn the player invisible and place them at the edge of the map
2 - create an event with the graphics of the player character wherever they should be on the map
3 - use a move route to move the player and scroll the screen (or scroll map, whatever)

You can also find a variety of camera control plugins that can give you extra focusing and movement commands.

Sweet! Thanks for the help! I hadn't really thought about doing a "body double" type situation. Good thinking! Thanks!

I woke up a touch early and was going to draw by the fireplace until it’s a more appropriate noise-making time, but I left my stylus AND my glasses (WHAT?!) upstairs and it’s just too cold to get out of the blanket now.
Made some simple samples with the Time Reversal Mechanic. It would be interesting to make a bigger puzzle where you could dynamically choose which elements are affected by the time reverse. But if there's much more than move routes and waits, it's starts to get too annoying for my brain :D Like even that exploding bomb was such a bother.
