Hey there all! For a while now I've wanted to make a thread to keep the music that I've composed that isn't made with a specific usage in mind. What I'll do is post the music and write a description so that you know a little bit about what my thought process was when I made each track.

I'll start with Cinders, Cinders is an orchestral track I made fairly recently that is heavily inspired by the soundtrack of Dark Souls 3. Anybody who knows me well knows that I love the Souls series and have finished each game multiple times, naturally, that also means I've been paying very close attention to the music.

Just like the boss fight music in Dark Souls 3, it's split into more than one section, each section of the track represents a different phase of the boss fight. in Cinders I started with a slow but menacing 1st section and then drastically changed the mood in the 2nd section to create something epic and thundering. The 1st section of Cinders is heavily inspired by the music in the souls series for High Lord Wolnir, Slave Knight Gael and Artorias of the Abyss. The 2nd section is inspired by Demon in Pain/Demon Below and Dragonslayer Armour.

If you like what I'm doing here, let me know and I will keep on doing it :)

That sounded great Scythuz, I like that you explained the thought process about how you developed the song. I definitely got a bit of that souls feel to it; I think you captured the idea of boss phases with the concept well enough.

@Vox Novus @Themanlymaker Thanks both of you! I'd really like to make that kind of music again so hopefully I'll get around to it!

This track is called Dark Matter, it's a pretty heavy track inspired by one band called Porcupine Tree, one called Gojira and also the main menu music from a game called Escape from Tarkov. It starts with a very moody clean guitar part with a clear Porcupine Tree influence before the heavy guitar part comes in (definitely Gojira influenced) with some strings for added dramatic effect. The track then explores themes of sadness and desperation with a piano and solo cello refrain. From there, I slowly reintroduce the other elements until all of them are combined in the final section which represents hope for the future. I hope you enjoy the track!

After thinking about your description and listening to it again, I got what you were going for. I like how they end up mixing in the end to convey the new concept/theme.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
