Hi. Was wondering if there is a script out there or if someone can quickly make one to have a equipment note tag that seals the actor from using the equipment? <seal actor: id>Just because i dont want to make 2 seperate equipment types for 1 handed and 2 handed swords (for example). Or did i overlook something in the editor by default? Thanks peeps

You can seal equipment from the editor. under the weapon/armor editor you can add a seal type to any weapon/armor

Ok but i want to seal the actor within a weapon or armor. Not seal the type of a weapon or amor. Know what i mean? Example. I have a rogue who uses blades (weapon type) i also have 2 handed blades in the weapons database (but same weapon type) i dont want my rogue to use the 2 handed blades. So 1 handed and 2 handed blades are the same weapon type but i dont want my rogue to use the 2 handed blades

the easiest way to do that is to set up a different type for them if you want to limit your actor to certain types of weapon/armor. it makes it easier to manage in the future. there might be scripts that calls for condition for formula when an actor tries to equip them. but since you are at the starting stage of building your item data base. making a new type is easier.

I thought so. To me making a <seal actor: id> notetag for equipment of the same type would be easier so i have less weapon types. Because i will have to make 1 handed blades, 2 handed blades, 1 handed axe, 2 handed axe etc for my weapon types when i would rather have just blades and just axes. Thanks for the quick response though. I appreciate it. Its all G.

the usual way to create 2H-weapons is to seal the shield slot as a feature of the weapon itself - as soon as it is equipped, shields can no longer be used.

This is a problem with actors that have no shield slot due to the twohanded feature, for that you'll probably need scripts.

I don't have a script that directly prevents actors from equipping something but this can be achieved using Tag Manager by specifying "tag requirements" for weapons and armors.

For example, you tag your rogue with

Code:
<tag: sword>
And you tag your warrior with
Code:
<tag: sword><tag: 2Hsword>
And then you tag your 2H weapon with
Code:
<tag_cond: 2Hsword>
Only actors with the "2Hsword" tag will be able to equip them.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
