So sense "dust in the wind" says basicly what Solomon said. I was wondering what other secular songs reflected biblical stuff

@Oddball: Pretty much anything Kansas touched will have at least some religious connotation to it, not just from Christianity either but  from Hinduism/Animism (Aperku, Death of Mother Nature Suite) Buddhism (Hymn to the Atman) and sometimes a confused mismatch of philosophical questioning (The Pinnacle). Kerry Livgren went through a sort of spiritual awakening from 1973-the mid eighties as the band grew in fame and towards it's zenith, and their music shows a profound scholarly understanding of a hodgepodge of religious truisms mixed and melded for the most part without contradiction.

Using Kansas as an example, the song "Hold on: http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/kansas/holdon.html'>http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/kansas/holdon.html " comes to mind as it held so much of a Christian influence (as Livgren had by this time become a Christian in truth) that it and other subsequent Christianity-inspired songs would splinter the band and threaten to destroy them completely.

@Oddball: Pretty much anything Kansas [...]
Hell yeah, Kansas! There's also The "Portrait (He Knew)." Although some of the lines I think are theorized to be about Newton or Einstein, a lot of them sound like they are about the son of the big guy in the sky. Livgren even redid the song in his Christian band AD years later (as "Portrait II") and I think changed very little to make it more in line with his new band's spirituality.

I've always felt their biggest hit "Carry on Wayward Son" had to be something Biblical, too.

Lady Gaga's Judas doesn't have any biblical quotations, but beats you over the head with references.

This thread is bordering on discussion of religion (which is against the rules), so I'm just checking in to say to keep it light hearted, don't turn it into a debate, and just keep it about songs that reference religion.

I think religion is such a common touchstone in culture that of course you are going to get allusions to it in song, even from non-religious people

Just a reminder of how amazing this often-forgotten Disney movie is:

Seemed to fit the topic, sorta.

Dream Theater - The Shattered Fortress

Has the Prayer of St Francis (paraphrased) in it, not sure if any of of it can found verbatim in the bible, though. (Though, technically, the prayer is there because of its connection with Alcoholics Anonymous).

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
