Again, what did Whitesphere do that spurred you to make this topic?
He didn't do anything at all, he just replied to the topic so I replied to his post :D

I'm all for art and love, but artists need to eat. While I do not believe in perfection, as that leads only to stagnation, I believe in making art and selling it at a reasonable price so that the artists can eat and the viewers of that art enjoying it. Also, completely ignoring a company would cause some strife, as there are games that a bad company might release that could actually be good, regardless of if things were changed.

Just so you know, I meant that it would be discrimination on BFG's part to ask you to remove them.

I'm sorry if you got the wrong impression! :)

I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with your work.
I understood that.

I'm just thinking that BFG aims to be site for little kids to buy their games from.

Doesn't that hurt even more though!? They make a really good game or series and then mess it up. Mass effect 2, great game! All the depth was cut out for some reason...oh to streamline it! STOP watering down and killing my game experience!

Same thing with Dragon age 2, where did all the rpg depth go???

I hate Bioware!!!

Well I like to think that most Indie devs are a force for good. I am used to MOST big game companies being evil. Now there are a FEW good game companies out there. Not in America of course but eh. So when I see one of our own selling us out I think it's wrong!
You feel that the three practices you listed are simply terrible.

Why are they bad?

It sounds like you're not happy with how things are because you don't get free stuff?

One should never be happy over the loss of freedom, I used to have no worries over a beta, now more and more companies are cutting content in their betas and adding micro transactions to get it!

I should NEVER be told to get anything on steam since they do not check their games, since I was told here to do that it is worth saying. I don't like the $%^& lag when I try to save without a internet connection!

And nope I don't care about free. I do not want free day one DLC because it is still worthless, just hold back till you have everything ready! Or wait 4 months or just do ANYTHING that doesn't make me think you as Satan!

Normally, this is where a mod would come in and ask everyone to watch the general tone, but after reading and re-reading the thread, I'm not going to do that. The original premise of this thread is insulting, at best, and taking away attention from discussions that would benefit the community more.

You've mentioned how we need to be a positive influence in the community a couple of times now, Shelby, and I encourage you take your own advice. Be a positive influence on this community, and stop posting negative and controversial threads and posts. Same goes for everyone else who participated or read the discussion. Let's focus on sharing info and opinions without making it dramatic and emotionally charged. :)

Day 1 DLC: Don't care. Don't like it don't buy it. I also think you misunderstand how it comes to exist. The people who make Day 1 DLC are people who are finished with their part of the main product. If they weren't working on Day 1 DLC, they would be working on another project or let go entirely. They have to be paid to keep working on the game, and the DLC comes from a different budget than the main game.

On Disc DLC: Don't care. If a DLC that was created under a different budget than the main game gets finished before the game is sent to be printed, its actually better for them to go ahead and put it on the disc. Saves everyone time downloading it.

Preordering: What? I don't even get how this is even an issue.

Steam: Steam is awesome, but its a store, you have to check reviews before you purchase anything off it. You sure as hell don't buy things off of Amazon without checking reviews do you?

Now, there are crappy practices put forward by some game companies. TEN DOLLARS TO GIVE YOUR HORSE ARMOR! TEN DOLLARS FOR GUNS IN A DIFFERENT COLOR!, but it has to do with specifically what it is rather than the stuff you are complaining about.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
