Medical help coupled with professional help is proven to be effective as long the person is actually willing to cooperate. After all, getting over depression problems begins from the person in question.

However, the person who is depressed can do even more, it doesn't mean they can't find their own way additionally to proven methods.

It's up to you if you believe to these things but meditation can do miracles.

Ultimately you should seek advice from the professionals instead of us who have no real clue.

I agree with all the people here: take the meds when needed, be there for the person, talk to them a lot, the doctor is on YOUR side. People with depression really need all the help they can get. Didn't really have it myself that bad... but I know people who have.

But most of all, DON'T FORGET YOURSELF! Don't become too focused on helping the other get well that you forget YOUR well-being! You may make the other person feel better, but if that goes at the cost of you, it's no good either. You might be the next to need this help.

It happened to the person who helped me get back on track... and I almost fell off again when I heard the news of prolonged illness of that person.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
