@JaeJaeCee you need to learn the basics of eventing, and that is absolutely impossible by "twenty questions".
Instead, you need to follow one of the tutorials that show you how the makers work.

This could either be the game that was linked above, or the series of PDF-Tutorials to read or a few other options, but if you try to get this by simple questions you'll need months until every question has been asked and answered.

If you follow the link "starting point for beginner" in my signature you'll find links to the other tutorials.
And NO, that will not allow you to solve your problem in 15 minutes - you'll need hours for just the basic tutorials, and usually (depending on your available time) we estimate that most people will need a month to work through all the basic tutorials until they have learned how the engine works.
But unless you do that, you'll never get far with game development.

Yes, even a child can learn and follow these tutorials exactly as Degica advertises - but that child needs to put in the hours for learning as well, game development can't be learned fast.

Alright...
“Events” didn’t really answer the question i have...
And my attempts to correct whatever i am doing wrong are not helping.
I want an event that will play a scream, have the characters react to it through appearing text, and then erase itself.
What i keep doing is this:
The event is supposedly activated upon Player Touch- when the player steps in a certain spot.
I select Player Touch and then proceed to fill out the rest of the page- the scream sound effect, the short conversation between the characters.
Am I doing something wrong?
I’m getting confused, because people keep telling me that its so simple.
My issue is that I have a form of functional autism called Aspergers, and my mind sometimes translates peoples statements the wrong way.
Should I just tack the scream onto a puzzle door opening?
Am I doing something wrong with my usual approach?

Would someone please help me?

For this event, please show us a screenshot. For the screenshot, make sure it has the entire event (including the information on the left side). The easiest way to screenshot the whole window is to used Alt+PrtSc.

NEVERMIND. This thing finally just worked.
Thanks everyone that tried to help- sorry if I sounded stupid.
I finally managed to get it right, I guess?

Don't apologize for not knowing things. Just please take time to explore the program, work through tutorials, search the forums and Google when you are stuck, and then come back with questions.
