Hi

For a little game I´ve been working on I bought "Pop Horror DLC content" and after looking around in the forum I´m not sure if was a mistake.
I wanted to make it available for Pc and Android and I did try with a test game and got that to work on my android phone somehow. :)

So I just wonder if it´s any way possible to share a game that has DLC content and if that´s the case, how and/or where?
If not, then they should tell people that before you buy otherwise it feels like false marketing or at least very deceiving.

And I really try do try to post in the right threads.

Yes, you can share the game but you need to use encryption. The type of encryption you use is up to you.

Sure, dude. Since you have Pop Horror DLC created by Vexed Enigma, you need to read Terms of Use and EULA.

And, like @Sharm said, it require encryption just as written in EULA.

Thanks for responses. :)

Can you share the game after encryption, I read in several places and got the impression that you can´t, or is it just on steam?
And is it possible to use the free "Vexed Enigma" and share a playable" game or do I have to pay 199 dollars?

Once it's encrypted you can share it however you want. The free materials that Vexed has shared have a different licence than the ones in her paid packs. You need to follow the rules of use she states there. I have no idea where you got the idea that you'd need to spend $199 to use them.

Oh, wait, I think I have an idea what you may be referring to. To get your game onto Steam is it's own process, it has nothing to do with the program you use to make the game in the first place.

So, it is possible to make a "playable" game with "pop dlc" for Pc and Android and share it as long as it´s not on steam?
But I can share it here, right?

I think you're confusing two different things. All that matters is the project is encrypted. If you follow that rule, it doesn't matter where you share it.

But you can´t share encrypted files on steam, right?
And if I use "RPG makers" encryption there´s always some files that get´s behind but it´s only the dlc that need´s to be encrypted, right?
Plus it seems like you have to pay 199 dollars for the full "The Enigma Protector Professional" when the trial is over. Can you use the trial to make a game that you after the trial is over is shareable?

It´s amazing how expensive a free game can get.

RPG Maker's encryption is considered sufficient for encrypting the tileset DLC. So no, you don't need Engima. As for if you can share them via the workshop with them encrypted, I don't think so but no idea, as I avoid steam workshop like the plague.

That sentence doesn't mean what you think it means. What people mean when they're talking about that is that you cannot take files that should be encrypted and share them on Steam in an unencrypted game. This was a huge problem at one point, a lot of people were making dummy games to "share" the store packs and got themselves banned. You can share a game that has encryption on Steam.

The program for encryption that you're talking about is only one encryption option, there are others, and I believe there are free ones.

Ok, I don´t care about steam really I just wanna share a game and steam was an option.
So if I wanna share the game here of example "Rpg maker mv" encryption will encrypt the "pop dlc" and the files that don´t get encrypted don´t need to get encrypted as long as there not from the dlc, right?

Been looking around and some threads are old and un-relevant so I do get things wrong here and there. I just wanna be sure I´m doing it the right way.
I am obviously new at this but what are the most common programs that people use, I´m assuming they are free?
Can you point me in the right direction, like relevant tutorials?
When I got a test game to work on my android I had to improvise because all the tutorials including "Rpg maker mv"´s one are outdated, I got windows 10, so it´s hard to keep up.

Yes, that is correct.

Well, I tried with "RPG maker"´s encryption and of course there are some files from the "dlc" that just happen to not get encrypted.
It´s like they created "dlc content" and if you wanna share a game with that "dlc content" then you have to use their expensive or some other expensive program to encrypt it.
I can´t find a freeware to encrypt the game that I can use legally if I wanna share the game. Either they are really clever or I have misunderstood it all again.
Either way, it seems hard to make a game with "dlc content" and share that game without paying a lot of "extra" money, if you wanna do it legally.

I don't recall the POP! packs having anything other than graphics in them. That should encrypt with the default encryption. What's being left out? Generally what gets left out is sound and music files because of the way those work, but POP! doesn't have those.

Sorry, my bad. Your right, it was a sound effect but it from some music I bought from the same store and I guess it´s the same as the POP! with encryption.

Hm, I´m looking at the documentation of the music packs I found and it does not seem like I have to encrypt any of the music/audio files.o_O
Can´t find any EULA or anything mention the word encryption.
Am I wrong or does music/audio packs from "RPG maker" store have to "in general" be encrypted too?

Someone will have to correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think music files can be encrypted.

I got stuck on one SFX that´s from a music pack I bought that "RPG maker" refuses to encrypt even if I modify it in an audio program. It´s like made not be able to be encrypted by "RPG maker" or something. Some other sound effects and music get encrypted and some do not.

Well, I´m not sure it matters because even when I only encrypt the "image files" with "Rpg Maker MV"´s own encryption option and not the audio, I still get an error message, "Failed to load: img/tilesets/TileA1_PHC_Water.png".

And the "TileA1_PHC_Water.rpgmvp" is in the tileset folder, what am I missing?

Is it possible to use The Enigma Protector to only "encrypt" the "Image files" and not the audio files?

I´m sorry for the ranting, I got frustrated and lost my cool.

If you want to add something and your own post is the last, please edit it.

The EULA of any program and/or resource that is given with it is the key to its licence - just because all resources are sold on the same shop does not mean that they are required to have the same EULA - or that it is the only EULA. For example there was a time when half of the shop products were available with a non-RM licence in addition to the RM-licence that is currently the only variant - if you paid more you got a different EULA for exactly the same pictures, and the more expensive EULA (which allowed the use outside RM) was the binding one.

With audiofiles, there is the problem that both compression and encryption on the same music is usually too much for most computers to handle. And if the computer can't handle it, you'll get extreme sound-lag as a result.
